K98K DOT44 AW block

Finally got around to taking some better pictures of this DOT44 aw block. I believe aw's are the last letter block of 1944.

This rifle is another Canadian find! Has had some BLO or the like rubbed on the stock at some point in the past.

Definitely have to keep your eyes peeled. They do come up. I have found some in Canada and imported some as well. If they show up here on EE, they don't last more than about 15-25mins it seems!

Well it's the same as a numbered original car and one that's been made from a dozen cars. Lol. They are nicer in every way.
They won't shoot any better likely, but they look better and feel better.

But all comes down to personal preference and usage. Gonna shoot it, get RC. Wanna just collect and look get original.

I wouldn't say it's provenance/provenience, but rather for their originality. All original nazi items, not just rifles, are highly prized collector's items which fetch huge sums in the world of military collectibles. Even more sought after are all matching k98 sniper rifles. But any matching k98 especially coming form the US should be carefully examined by someone who really knows what to look for because unfortunately there's a huge counterfeit market n the US.
