K98k MAUSER FEVER..

I like the look of that one too!

Hey, what is frankenmauser? I have heard it bandied about, and have some idea that it means something akin to putting parts from several guns togeather to make one good one?

yup, you got it.....a collection of parts. however even with "frankenrifles" there is a generally accepted level of quality. The best may not match in numbers but are usually a serious attempt to restore/assemble a parts correct and in very good condition (model, year, armory etc.) facsimile of the original piece...then there are the mismatched..rather "well used", but still nice examples like mine..then the poorly executed mismatches and beat to hell...then nicely sported, but sported nonetheless.......and poorly sported............and then, bubba

just what I've learned myself as a relative newcomer to milsurps.

umm I just picked up 2 crates of 8mm ammo... no mauser to shoot it with... anyone wish to part with ONE of their k98k's ??? I'd like to join the fever here guys.

Where did
you get the ammo?

A military surplus shop in Calgary, surprisingly they sell ammo, never heard of them before. They have one crate left which I'm hopefully going to pick up soon, but ammo goes quick... and the guy doesn't ship, pick up only.

frontier sells them as well.. but lets get back to the original topic here... anyone have a German made K98k kicking around? ;0
