K98s can shoot.

Thanks,
how's yours shooting?
Should fare as good... has a nicer barrel and the crowns were done the same. If you like polishing, the trigger needs some work. I didn't touch it.

My 96 needs trigger work too. I hope that stoning the sear is not considered bubba.

If that was my gun, I would leave it as is. How much better do you expect it to shoot?

Change the stock and it may not shoot as good again.

Israeli Mausers

I have 5 or 6 Israeli Mausers and two were made in 7.62 by FN. They have the Israeli crest on the receiver and bores like mirrors. I haven't put a round through them in 15 or 20 years. I was going to sell some but the rest are from various manufacturers and retain their markings. The FN manufactured Mausers have walnut stocks and don't have the finger grooves. I must get out to the range and check them for accuracy. A project for hunting season zeroing in rifles.
Nice groups for a 100 yards with a stock Model 98, I don't know if I would do anything to your M98. Might want to leave it as is.

The only way to shoot a mauser is with 8mm ammo!

I'm not an elitest a**hole. :)

I'll pay you to do that!!!! :p I get a video and sell it to CFC.
All CGN members can have a copy for 12.99. Shipping included.

IFRC, the original Mauser round was not quite the 7.92x57 JS -

7.92x57 JRS
6.5x55,
7x57,
{7.65 Mauser, 7.65x53 Mauser, 7.65 Belgian Mauser} - AKA the 7.65 Argentine Mauser
6.5x52
7.35x52

An I'm too tired to look up those that elude my memory at the present time.

I'm no elitist either. just dogmatic ;)
