KAC SR-15, or Noveske Recce?

My name is #### and I'm a gunaholic. That being said, I have one rule: No more guns than I can fit in my safe. I have an eight gun safe, that will comfortably fit 5 rifles without them fighting each other for space. With that rule comes one indulgence: Only the best get to be in there. Here in lies my problem.

All of this KAC SR-15 talk lately is making my "the grass is always greener" tendencies take over. Should I keep my pimped Noveske Recce, or go for the KAC SR15 that One Shot has so temptingly priced at $2699. I can only have one, so there is no compromise. I have no doubt that my Noveske is more accurate by at least a 1/2". It is an amazing shooter. But that SR-15 is so glorious in so many other ways. What would be your do all, go to recce carbine? Ahhhhh :(

My vote is keep the noveske. Thats a nice looking set up you have there. keep the more accurate gun

The SR15 is configured as a running and gunning carbine - your Noveske is built as a DMR configuration. You are trading apple for orange here.

That's kind of what I'm afraid of. I like shooting off hand and shooting service rifle matches, but I also like shooting tiny little groups and picking of 1" size target at 100 yds. For me the consistent match grade accuracy is a big factor, I don't want to lose.

Exactly....
If you are going to live with your self imposed limit, decide what you want out of the unit...
I have one of the SR15's on order, but it isn't going to fill any 'niche' that I don't already covered in spades....
10.5" LMT for CQB...7.62 LMT for DMR....etc.

I solved the 'one gun cabinet' dilemma by turning, (with my wife's blessing!!), our 'cold room' in the basement into a walk-in, secured gun room.
When I found the 'one container' limit was making choices on what to keep and what to 'move' too difficult....I just made the 'container' larger!:D

SR-15. KAC all the way! Nice rig though... :)

PS... where did you get the cat-tail for the NF? I've been looking for one!

I got the cat tail with the NF, when I bought it. Its a great addition to any scope, for someone who has ever tried to turn a scope variable adjust with gloves, or wet hands. I've been trying to get a couple more, for two other NF's I own, but no one will ship me one. I have a hard time believing that the cat-tail is ITAR restricted, but whatever.

As for the KAC, one of my concerns is that One Shot is now brining them in en mass (Well sort of), but I may never again find a Noveske like this in Canada. These comments are steering me towards keeping it and just waiting out to see what happens with the SR's. Besides, the EE value of a used SR-15 just went to $2500, once One shot imports enough of them.

Since you like putting shots on top of each other at 100yard so much, keep the Noveske. If you sell that Noveske now, you will not be able to buy another one like it easily later for similar money that you can sell for it now. It looks like One Shot will be able to keep bringing in the SR-15 so there's no rush to get one now.

I have been trying to get one for my Accupoint... but I keep getting stonewalled as well...

I asked Rick at ATR if he could get them, but he'd never heard of them! I sent him a link, and it sounded like something he'd try to carry. Hope he's successful.. I'd take one for my NF and my TR24G.

Bigger safe! I just built a big 25 gun cabinet a few months ago, and it is way over full already! Of course 7 or 8 belong to my wife, they're not all mine.:D
