KAC Triple Tap brakes?

Been intrigued with this brake for a little while now.

Curious to hear any reviews from people who have it.

How does it compare to other brakes and compensators in your opinion?

IIRC its made with Inconnel? a super tough metal, main use is for suppressors due to the high heat.From memory that's about it.KevinB is the SME on Knights stuff.
 
We are the authorized KAC Canadian dealer/distributor.

We actually just submitted an import cert. today for more of these as well as other KAC goodness.
 
What type of steel is it made off? What are the specs, Pros vs Cons, where is the value in it compared to others... Eventually i will probably pick one up, was going to so many times and it was always sold out when i went too get one. What justifies the cost? Compared to many others it seems a little inflated here. Darren...... kevinB ....what makes this the S**T compared to everyone Else's?

I think you got caught in the "It costs more than everything else - so it must be better than everything else" Syndrome.

Kevin B. has stated (in various posts) that it is good for 14.5" guns....shorter barrels have other issues and AAC / B.E Meyers Blackout are better flash suppressors.

For recoil management - our own Troy Ind. rep. 'Gadget' recommends the Endine buffer with a surefire brake.

Don't rely on one item screwed onto the end of your barrel to do everything.

Well thanks for your opinion, but I guess really I'm looking for an answers in semantics. Just would like some numbers and manufacturing selling points is all, which you don't have...

The problem is I don't have that syndrome, in my post I'm clearly asking for the selling points and the cost associated with this products compared to others. I'm asking for the value I'm getting out of this product, and a detailed review if possible.

I purchase KAC products because I have always been impressed with there company, it just seems there product in this case is priced very high. Also i like trying new things, even though this has been out for a while and i have actually fired a rifle with one on the barrel apparently, a friend of mine pointed that out. I just never noticed with all the other AR's i was trying out that day with so many gizmos I can't remember 1/5th of them.

All in all just looking for some added justification to pick this up, besides curiosity..but I hear ya..
 
I posted the material in my first post, Inconnel, I believe that it is one of the best "compensators" out there, and that is by reputation.

The high price is not so much that it is a Specials Metal ( formerly Inco ) alloy ( I would assume the basic Inonel 625 which is a common bar stock alloy ) but rather it is made by a mutiple step wire EDM . This process is painfully slow thus time and cost to manufactuer is very high

It is amazing how fast a CNC turning center can spit out a traditional muzzle brake. Doing it with wire edm is like watching paint dry

Even if they made this brake with a stainless alloy for example, the cost would still be stupid high due to the mfg time. Since you are in it for such a high cost already, it would be silly not to use one of the best materials for high temperature creep strength and corrosion resistance...high nickel alloys such as the Inconel family

Thanks you guys, I appreciate it. I see the value and the cost is justified in my humble opinion. That explains it perfectly then.Just didn't want to pay for the name..
