KAC Triple Tap brakes?

The cost or a good portion of it can be attributed to the Manufacturing process as well I think the to the brand name.

But does it do the job any better than something cheaper. I understand it as a 'no'.

An above average flash hider- maybe? with a little compensation effect thrown in.

A supercar from GM is $100,000
A car that performs 90% as good but from Ferrari is $300,000.
Same holds true, higher manufacturing costs for the Ferrari, but you get less.

Anyway :) I would buy one too....if I had the cash. But there would quite a few things I would drop $500 on before a flash hider.

As I tell everyone -- for 5.56mm best to spend money on ammo and training.

The TT and new MAMS will let you shoot faster with less muzzle flip and less recoil energy transfer, but start at the basics.

We did some in 17-4 but they do not hold up under a can, and all else being equal the maching time is most of the cost.

The difference between the cost of the amount of 17-4 to Inconel 625 is maybe $25.

In the 7.62mm guns, and the large calibers (.330WM, .338LM) a good brake is a game changer.
You can self spot for sniping, and you can get much faster hit easier in a closer in environment.

I shot a IDPA two gun match last weekend with my SR-25 with MAMS brake, and my time on a Kyle Lamb VTAC Drill (Tgt1 1 rd, Tgt2 2rds, Tgt3 3rds, Tgt2 4rds, Tgt1 5rds) was faster than all but one of the 5.56mm shooters, and about 3x faster than a M1A shooter.

While we have the KAC SME on station,
What's your opinion on the Knights ambi release over the TROY or Norgon?

The TROY is modestly priced at least.

Never seen the Troy.

Norgon and our work well (I prefer the Norgon) - but I really dont like any of them -

* don't let the Diemaco copy of the Norgon influence your thoughts on the Norgon, the R22eR had Diemaco made the release engagement smaller so it was easier with Dummy Mitts (why you are working a rifle with dummy mitts on I don't know) and as a result a lot of mags get dislodged with the CF guns. I know they are changing it back to the original design due to combat complaints of the current versions dropping mags at bad times.

I'm told that the KAC and the TROY are similar? I haven't seen any of them physically so making a decision is based on other end users?

What's the KAC worth? The TROY is $60

Er...what?

Which models are you comparing? No question the GM is a better performance per dollar value over the Ferrari, when talking top end Corvettes...but where do you figure on the 90% as good? Does the current Corvette really measure up to the 458? or even a 430?
