Kamlooky led me to it

That is one ###y beast :) My Dad used to have a mint Belgium Auto 5 12 gauge magnum. He had only shot it once (at a magpie) he sold in for $100 when the long gun registery came out :)() I would give anything to have it now.

With a title like; "Kamlooky led me to it," I was expecting a body and a shallow grave...

That's funny - thanks for the laugh, Greg.

Kamlooky - thank you for the manual and all of your previous input on these A5s. I paid $740 for this one - I knew, and the guy at the shop knew, that I was getting a decent deal on this one; they also knew it was going somewhere that it would be appreciated. He said in all his years at the shop, this was only the second 20g magnum he has seen and the first one sold years ago for the same price but was at 80% condition for bluing/wood. I'll get a few pics of inside the action, it really doesn't look like it was shot too much at all.....but that will change this weekend at the range. ;)

Two guys in my deer hunt group are shooting these old A5s 1 smooth bore deer barrel and one with a rifled deer barrel. Both still dropping deer. The one guy got 3 this year in our 1 week hunt.

I'm thinking this beauty will be getting passed down to my sons one day. If things change, you're top of the list. As for choke - 15.8 or full choke on the 20g. I'm used to shooting full choke, so no big deal there.

I checked the rings and it was together the way it should be. Everything looked new, no wear marks at all. Took it to the range and put a dozen rounds down it, discovered it was plugged already. The thing has a little more kick than my Ithaca 20g but has a nice crisp trigger for a shotgun.

Nice gun, very nice gun....
And where did you find this treasure, certainly not in the place by the river with those stinky dead fish in it?
Thanks for torturing me.
Rob

A quaint little shop that isn't a sponsor here but treats their known customers well. ;) Sent you a message, Rob.

ovrecWhat do you mean "take it for grouse next season" ovrec .
You can't wait till then to get some feathers on it.
You afraid the rain will me,t it?
If that's the case send it my way,
I'll make sure Looky gets it and puts it to use this fall !!
Thanks for sharing in your score of the season for sure,
Rob

Beauty Auto 5! The 20 and 16 gauges must be worth quite a bit more than the 12s? Due to the majority being 12s. Such a classic shotgun Id love to have one in 16 gauge for upland birds someday; one can always dream.........
