My local gun emporium is clearing out some Karl Kaps riflescopes at just over half price. They look very good to me optically and I am considering bringing in a rifle and see how they fit. They have a straight 6x42 that would serve me well, but I would like to know more about them before laying out about $500. Original price was closer to $900. They also have a nice 4x32, a 8x56, and a couple of variables for sale. The variables are 1st focal plane reticle scopes, not my preference but look otherwise very nice. All are 30mm tubes. Opinions and experiences anyone?

If a $500 scope were within my budget, I'd certainly pay that for a Kaps that normally retailed at $900, if it were in a configuration that suited my purposes, e.g. a 6x42mm.

The Kaps scopes are on sale at Wholesale sports in Saskatoon. 306-931-4475.

I bought two scopes yesterday, 6x42 and 2.5-10x50, they look very good!

They still have a 2-8x56 # 4 reticle, a fixed power 8x56 w/#4, and 2 fixed power 4x36's ( one #4, one post /cross hair) and a 1-4x22 post/cross hair. Price on the 1-4 is $740 and 4x36 is $520. Didn't get the other prices. Ask for Calvin, the gun department manager.

Longwalker thanks for the heads up, but wholesale sports can kiss my but! I phoned to buy the 2 4x36's for $535 each from the SASK store, was told to call the 1-800 number to finish the order, was told that I could not buy the scopes from the Saskatchewan store by the 1-800 people, but they would sell me 2 for $740 each!!! I argued with no sucess, was told the Sask store has no way to shipp the scopes? only walk in service ! What a crock of crap!

I hope you like the scopes they were a great deal, cheers Dale Z in T-Bay!
