Hi All,

Quick question regarding current Mauser values...can you give me a rough idea ?

I understand that RC ones are going for $1200-$1400.

Original germans with matching numbers ?

Original germans mixmasters ?

IDF german 7.62 models ?

IDF CZech 7.62 models ?

IDF FN Belgium 7.62 models ?

Sorry I don't know much about Mausers.

Cheers

Original germans with matching numbers ? 1600-2500$

Original germans mixmasters ? 1200-1500$

IDF german 7.62 models ? 800-1200$

IDF CZech 7.62 models ? 800-1200$

IDF FN Belgium 7.62 models ? 800-1200$

All depending on condition.

Original condition and matching K98k’s are quite difficult to find in Canada. When they do pop up the bottom seems to be high 2k’s to 3k, and then they can go much higher than that for rare codes, pre-war guns, very late-war gun, SS rifles etc.

To give some idea. The last truly matching K98k on the cgn trader was a dou43. Its a pretty common code, was listed at 3600, and sold within ten minutes.

It’s how good of a negotiator you are that determines what you pay for anything in life!

Yeah, I refuse to pay $1200-$1500 for a completely mismatched and reblued/ red varnished Russian Capture but supply and demand. Not many K98's left out there to be scooped up cheap by importers. I sold original German bolt mismatchs several years ago for $650- $800 and have kicked my ass ever since. But then RC's were going for $400 then.

The other thing that is really astonishing is people are paying top dollar for junk K98’s on the EE.
Rusty, pitted, no blueing, reblued, gouged stock, you know the score. Poor to Good for Top Dollar???
Clever and deception descriptions that should say mismatched but they write instead that
Bolt matches itself, and Stock and Handguard match itself!
Pimping for more money?

Condition is everything, Don’t buy junk even if you’re desperate. It’s still junk when you go to sell it.

Whats a matching BYF45 Kriegsmodell worth?

And also, consider that just about every “original numbers matching” k98 in Canada is usually not actually original nor numbers matching…most all of them end up being a post war refurb job.

Unfortunately this is very much the case. Nearly every single 'original numbers matching' K98k that I see come up for sale in Canada is either a VOPO rifle, a Czech refurb, or has significant issues.

Without lots of closeup pics, and only one picture from 10 feet away, theres no way to tell.
I would never buy a K98 without lots of pics. A text description means nothing in a WTS ad.
If you don’t do your research you get burned. Always ask for a 3 day inspection.
The real good guns are hoarded and stay in collections and are traded among friends.
There are K98 vet Bring backs in Canada. They are out there.

LOL its supposed to be a joke, why so uptight about it :)
I personally wouldn't pay more than 2K for an all matching.

That's fair that you wouldn't want to pay more, but I really think you'd struggle to find even the most common codes at that price these days. About $1500-$2000 cad was the going rate for a common coded matching K98 about ten years ago. Market has changed a lot since then...

I have a flux capacitor and can dial in to the price I want to pay and the year! Lol

Hahahaha, I'm still living off my memories from 10 years ago. Paying on average 400-500$ for my 98k's, found a couple matching ones for less than 1K at gun shows. One collector here i believe still has one. All matching and original. Portuguese Contract for 400$. If only i can go back and buy more:ang
