Karabiner 98K

Actually it is the other way around and the 8mm is the superior round from just about any perspective!

I agree,I just didn't want to hurt the feelings of all the 06 shooters on board.!!
My 8mm loads for the 185 gr Remington's chrony in at 2582 fps, some of the 165 gr 06 loads were only 2630 fps.I would say the two are comparable, but the cool edge definitely tips in favor of the 8mm.

Really??? I didn't realize that already!

WOW ... you're so knowledgable on the subject.

PS I'm looking for info on the rifle that I own not neccessarily if it's a true "Collector Piece".

BTW I think I'll go bubba my Garands this weekend and if I have time my mint Home Guard ROSS.

Someone's touchy....

BTW I did a search on the subject and guess what ... all of the K98 Snipers I saw were repro's

Hmm, looks like it I meant that you might be more likely to find the pictures there instead of just the Milsurp forum. Although Steve1973's CE44 might not be a repro-at least, he didn't label it as such.

Hey steve 1973 I thought you would recognized her ;)

Ahh hah! Once I took a look at the stock (specifically the small mid-stock repair), I got it!

That was a nice, accurate K98 with the irons when I had it, I am sure it will be great with the scope rig. That is one K98 I have regretted selling.

Well I didn't think of mine as being a repro or an authentic piece, you should have noticed this as I didn't state 'Original' in my original post and I did ask for info regarding it! Thanks

Now, generally when something is put together like this without rhyme or reason, or technically incorrect, it can also go by other names by the purists or elitist snobs, such as:

(a) A Humper or Humped

(b) A Pimpshined K98

(c) A Fake Sniper
