Just new to reloading; I got a Lee breech lock kit for Christmas and love the primer catch and priming arm, however I also recently acquired a RCBS Jr 2 cast press.

Is it worth keeping 2 presses at the bench to do different operations or should I move it along to purchase more components...

I keep three on the bench, a breechlock challenger for decapping, an old Pacific C Press for bullet pulling and the sort, and the rock chucker for sizing and seating. The arbor press for Wilson type dies.

way back when I was doing single stage, I did it like this- decapper /resizer, primer ( and or bench, )powder measure, and bullet seater- do it in THAT progression and you never end up with a squib or double charge-just like a line up at the mess hall

Flip one and put the $$ towards a progressive press. If you don't want to take up too much real estate on your workbench, invest in an Inlinefabrication quick-change system. :)

i`d keep em both, i know a few guys here that run 3 presses, , i`m waiting to move before i move up to a turret, but i will still keep my singles stage , more the merrier if you got the room that is!

I have 5 plus a progressive. I got into bullet swaging many years ago and use three ( 2 Rockchuckers & 1 Lee Classic cast) just for swaging.
When I'm not swaging, I keep a Universal decapping die in one & a Universal neck expander in another.
Yes, keep it and put it to work!

I would keep them both, over the years I have I have increased my presses to 9 single stage rcbs and 1 Dillon progressive. It's nice leaving dies in the press and not having to set them up again so the settings stay the same. I usually am loading for 3 rifle calibers so the dies stay put and I keep one for loading calibers that I don't do a lot. I also keep an old pacific for bullet pulling. For repetition it works great for me. The Dillon is for hand gun and the occasional mass production run of 223

Keep them both.

My bench currently has a Lee classic cast turret, Lyman T-mag turret press and a Lee pro 1000 progressive bolted to it. I'd have more presses but I only have so much space.
