Keep ARs or sell them all to go with a MV

If that was implied towards me, it's not jealousy, it's an interest in people who own the same as me. I pay attention to there set ups to help me tailor my own. Mike, Dilligaf, and myself seem to have a very similar taste in firearms. :p

As do I ;-)

To answer the OPs question - I agree with Epoxy:

Ultimately it depends on how you will be using the firearm. Varmint/commercial grade target rifle and you should be fine. Non restricted makes sense then. Higher volume hard use and CQB style.... Keep your AR rifles.

I'm quite happy with my NR ACR. It's accurate enough within 200m. For tighter groups and longer range, I'll just lean on my bolt guns. The ATRS MH and MV seem to be priced a little on the high side. I also got a little turned off with their business ethics lately, making some snide remarks about another Canadian manufacturer.

I personally have not seen any MH results that would make me pay the additional price point over other accurate NR 308 platforms. I was very close to ordering one when they were first announced but I likely would have sold it after only a few rounds.

The MV is an unknown, but I certainly wouldn't buy one until I have seen what they can do first hand.

If you don't use the AR's much and would rather NR rifles that are more versatile in terms of places they can be used , sell em, you won't regret it.

humm maybe an xcr would be better then?

yah I think you're right, i might hold off on the mv till I see some mv rifles perform. If accuracy is the same as an xcr, mght be better to go with an xcr from wolverine due to supply chain and business sense.

as for any other nr rifles that I might own that could be now sitting at the bottom of okanagan lake, i cannot comment.

Gey gang!
I need some help and some opinions.
I have 4 ars:
6920 with NSR, aimpoint
CC 15.7, aimpoint
CC IUR, elcan
Self built cc mk12, nightforce

Ive been thinking of doing what a friend of mine did and sell all my ARs and my aimpoints except the mk12 and the elcan to buy a top notch mv. I would keep the mk12 for 3 gun

What do you think? Opinions welcomed.

You are not alone in that thinking as I am contemplating wildcatting an MV for Ontario deer hunting.

no space!

Not true! You may not have space for high volume reloading, but you do for accuracy. Lee and Wilson both make presses that you could fit everything you need to work up a load your rifle likes in the box your safety shoes came in. I have a older Lyman similar to the Lee as a back up. It's what I started on, and I've kept it in case I end up in a smaller space. I'd pick the Lee over the Wilson because it uses regular dies, but the Wilson set up is supposed to be one of the best for low volume. I know two guys who have them and they seem happy with them. To start all you really need is the Lee Press, Dies (Redding since you have the $), a hand priming tool, and a good scale (I have an RCBS 5-10 and 10-10). Now you can tailor your ammo to the rifle and Trinimon can award you a few stars.

As for the MV, I think some of the complaints are a bit foolish. Custom costs money, and the complaints about accuracy feeding it factory ammo, garbage in garbage out. If a handload wasn't worked up for it you really can't say what it can, or can't do. Since you already have NR covered...If you want to build a tack driver sell one and assemble a Mk 12(ish) upper in something like .30 HAR like Sqr. Accurate and more unique than anything your likely to encounter on the range. If I had the cash...

Unless you plan to go with the XCR-M series, having the ACR makes any and all XCR-L's pointless to own. I had my XCR-L keymod 5.56, the ACR replaced it and the XCR was promptly sold.

Please refrain from telling us anymore details about your love triangle bromance. cou:

Pretty positive the MV will be more accurate than a XCR lol, it would be super embarrassing if it wasnt.

Do you have accuracy results to share from a modern varminter?

I would think that mikes experience with another manufactures high end version of the AR platform would make him smart enough to know he shouldn't touch anything until it's proven to be reliable and accurate.

fack I dont know sh!t about reloading, lots to learn

It's really not that difficult to learn. The financial side buying quality tools to get the job done is the part that I would be more concerned about.
