Keeping (storage) a mag full of ammo: problem?

Is there a problem with storing a magazine full of ammo? I have a safe for my pistol (ISSC M22) in my walkin-closet, and another in my little table beside the bed, with my ammo on it. If I keep a mag full loaded into that safe, is the mag spring may weaken with time?

From what I understand, a (quality) spring will wear with repetative cycling, not simply by being compressed.
I load my JIC mags at -1, (just in case)

Proper terminology counts, especially with all the anti gun propaganda being spread by the media these days. There is a difference between a magazine and a clip.

Magazine= box with a spring, and follower to feed bullets.
Clip= simple metal bullet holder to facilitate charging a magazine, or in the case of the Garand, it holds bullets in the receiver.

In the media Clip= anything you can stuff bullets into.
As a firearm owner, it is important to note this difference, and correct this incorrect terminology at every opportunity.

Thanks for clarification! My post is now edited accordingly.

I don't have a lot of magazines, so my JIC mags are my everyday shooting mags... That's may help not weaken the spring if this is an issue.
