Hello ladies and gents,

I have a KSG and I'm going partridge hunting at the end of September and was wondering if its legal to hunt with in Ontario?

I've used a Cooey 12ga single shot for last year and was pretty successful with it but bringing a pump hunting is new to me.

Thanks

Yes you can use it for hunting. I dont know your magazine limit in ontario, but when u figure it out you will have to plug you mag tubes. A wooden dowel typicly works well. Take the mag tube apart and put it behind the follower inside the spring. Short shotguns are pretty nice for carrying around and easier getting in and out of the truck.

Have fun!

Thanks S1de8urnz. I just found the mag limit on MNR website. 2 in the tube and 1 in the chamber. Now to get those tubes plugged...

18.5".. I hope you have choke options lol..

Also, one does not simply wield a KSG and not wear swat gear with a cleanly trimmed full beard and backwards hat. Then you add the orange vest. :D

I would pay to see someone fully decked out in tactical gear.... and the orange vest.

On topic: I think the KSG would make a great gun for hunting in dense woods. I use an 18" barrel on my 870 when I'm wandering through the thick scrub cedar and I would like something even shorter. At the ranges your pegging bunnies and bush chickens in those conditions 18" is plenty of barrel length.

I don't own a KSG but for short range bush shooting I don't see why it wouldn't make a great stew pot filler.

That is where it would shine, its OAL is half that of my shotgun.. brush is much easier to manage with something like that.

Also, I'm jealous, that is a kickass shotgun. I am just being a prick lol.. :D

I will join you in being jealous, I love these guns, just not currently in the budget.
Where I hunt it is mostly thick, thick brush so I think a bullpup shotgun would be an awesome gun for that application.

Has anyone done any wingshooting with one? I could see that being problematic, not much gun to "look down" to help in leading past the target.
