I had a chance to try out my new Kel-Tec RBD today. I have a Leupold Mark AR 1.5-4x in a ADM mount on it. I sighted it in with some leftover Hornady 53 grain VMAX, and then shot the last of my Hornady Superformance 75 gr Bthp. At 100yds I had 5 shot groups between 1.4” and 2”. I had 100% reliability, and found the trigger very usable.

Good shooting man. Good to see some reports. I was waiting for this gun for 3 years. Can't wait to get one for my self and test it side by side with my x95.

Had mine out Wednesday. 60 grain Vmax at 50 yards with a red dot. Not a single issue. Comfortable to shoot. This is my second target with 20 rounds fired.

Anyone getting a loose rear rail screw?

Its supposed to be loose. Its tightened down then backed off a bit to allow for expansion as the barrel heats up.

That's strange, Keltec said it should be loctited and is not supposed to work itself loose after a hundred rounds.... They suggest loctite but don't mention which color or what the appropriate level of torque is on the screw.
They also claim its not a known issue despite the reports going back several years ago in the US.

I misunderstood; I thought you meant the rear screw wasn't holding the rail down tightly... That's intentional. If the screw is working it's way out, that's a different issue. Its supposed to be tightened down snug, and then backed off 1/8th of a turn and held there with loc-tite. I would probably use blue, because red is a #####.

No loose as in you can lift the rail noticeably and the screw is out 1 1/2 revolutions and .... loose! I never tried to lift up on the rail out of the box but I'm assuming there should be no noticeable uplift when it's backed off 1/8 of a turn from snug.

Keltec support took a week to tell me I could loctite it if I wanted to..... ignored a few other issues and then responded the second week suggesting I use blue loctite but no other explanation of how that screw is to be tightened when using the loctite. I've seen the 1/8 recommendations online but it's pretty lame when you wait a week for a reply about a loose rail screw and the reply is incomplete.... then the next reply a week later is still incomplete.
I really should have just called but it seems they want people to use their online support. I don't mind waiting a week for a reply but it would be nice if the reply addressed all the questions raised and offered a comprehensive solution.
From what they told me they were unaware of loose rail screws being a known issue....... despite what 6 years of this gun being in circulation down south and numerous threads on the "issue"
In the end after two lame responses and two weeks wait their only answer was to get in touch with Vault and see if their three weeks of experience with the RDB can outperform Kel-tec's 6 years..... :)

How's your bolt release? I've read on other forums its extremely stiff out of the box, with it getting a bit better over time.
Let us know if that's the case with yours and if so, maybe update the thread if it works in.

Bolt release feels fine, I did get some lock backs on a loaded magazine though... haven't figured that one out and that is one of the questions Kel-tec support didn't bother addressing. I've seen some online reports of it happening apparently due to recoil, which I must say is pretty mild..... I didn't bother playing with the gas system as it seemed to run smoothly other then the occasional lock back on a loaded mag, which was easy to release with the bolt release once I figured out what was happening.
The only other issue I had was the cir-clip that retains and tensions the take down pin on the foreend came loose from it's slot so it looks like I will need to talk with Vault about getting another foreend shipped out or I will have to ship mine to them and get them to install new cups with the cir-clips.

I'd guess there should be two ( one on each side) but it appears mine came with only one and it fell out and got mangled the third time I removed the foreend.

I know the rear bolts are captive but does anyone have a front foreend takedown bolt that is captive?

did get the same lock back at first, dialed down the gas setting to the minimum without getting malfunction and it never did it again

All my takedown pins are captive and the same. There is only one cir-clip per pin on the outboard side that captures the pin or pull hard and the pins come out.
