Those would all be considered Canadian costs.... I think he was referring to the fee where the importer tacks on a little extra because they can.
I don't have a problem with it so much because at the end of the day if they sell that's all that matters. I do have an issue with any importers that are not willing to provide good customer service and warranty support after the guns are sold at inflated rates.
 
Don't ever forget the significant costs involved in US export approval, Canadian import approval and the RCMP tests, wait, wait some more, verdict, change their mind, wait some more, delays and maybe get classification someday...
 
Lets remember the price of ALL things are higher here in canada not just the imported firearms. So if you do the math that means an identical business here in Canada NEEDS to charge more to meet the cost of living here. It seems many here who complain about the "Canadian Price" forget that cost for all things are directly connected, just like how the cost of your groceries will increase with the cost of gasoline. As the cost of living goes up the cost for other things will rise with it to accommodate the difference.
 
The M43 interests me - looks a little odd with those sights but it's a neat gun - non-restricted it would be a blast. The price tag's a bit high for my liking, but competing with the T97 just isn't viable - the M43 is deliberately not plastic, not cheaply made and not made with a near slave labour economy, so all that factors in. At $1000 it would be a no-brainer purchase, at $1500 it's probably still in its own market, at $2000 it starts running up against XCR's and the conventional quality non-res guns and by 2500-3k it has priced itself out of the market.

While I appreciate that the RDB is cheaper, I've held off on the RFB because of it's plastic and price tag, so would probably be more interested in the M43.

I don't know, I got my RFB shortly after it was announced. I think it took about a year.. And as far as I know Kel-tec looks after Canadians, they produced a Canadian version of Sub2000, RFB, Su-16 from the very beginning..

They definitely do take care of us!

I remember Brian46 saying it took him a few years to get his rfb after it was released. I wish that wasn't the case. Maybe we get lucky and they start the classification committee thing the nfa were talking about they can issue it NR or restricted depending on barrel length in a week or too (I'm dreaming)
 
At 2:42 chad from kel-tec said they might in the future ( FAR FAR) do a 308 m43.

Could this mean a possible phase out of my beloved rfb for a 308 rdb....
