Kel-Tec RFB

Arms east was into it a few months ago, don't know where things are at now.

Probably waiting for Kel-tec to go into full production.

you forgot the 'pistol mags in a rifle' thread or the 'Cheapest non restricted black rifle' thread......

Hmm, that's odd, just tried it again, put "Kel-Tec RFB" in as the search term in advanced search and point it to the Black and Green rifles forum and the only thread that comes up is this one.

Don't forget the HK/Expensive gun bashing and the DI/gas piston argument. Staples of the Black and Green rifle thread.

That's the reason why it doesn't work, the default in the search page is to only search for up to a week ago, I think that default should be changed to in the last month.

You can save your preferences. I have mine set to 36 months, and only search 'subscribed' forums. I only subscribe to those forums that interest me!

Holy thread resurrection! For those interested it appears Vault will be bringing them in for distribution to retailers...I've inquired both to Vault about the product and to Wanstalls (great guys) about getting my hands on it if it appears. They seem pretty interested so here's fingers crossed to it happening!

As an update, like mentioned Vault industries is apparently bringing these in. They will have Canadian politically correct 18.5" barrels so they should be non-restricted. For those wondering, the factory barrels are 18" so ours would only be 1/2 an inch longer.

These would make a sweet bush gun.

Kel-Tec called us when they had another inquiry from Canada, to ask how we made out with the licenses. It's one thing getting Kel-Tec getting to talk to you, it's another thing to get the US Govt to license the product. It's a third thing to correctly license the product, and I can say the US Dept of State is publicly hot on the heels of incorrectly licensed product (ie, the actual description doesn't equal the description on the approved export license). In the third case, it's a dangerous game that risks product seizure + criminal sanction, massive fines, and potential jail time (for the US Exporter in particular), none of which we are prepared to chance.

About this time last year we told customers who we can license the product for, that we were holding off further license applications due to the distinct possibility of their approved $250 license expiring before the product was available, a situation which would have proven correct by now, licenses being good for 12 months only.

Nice guns and I hope we eventually sell them, but I'd take anyones suggestion that they'll have them in short order with a grain of salt. I wish I could say otherwise, but we've been doing this for a while, and are aware of the painful truth called reality.

When the RFB does come out, they have a three year wait list Stateside to work through.

Just saying.

Cheers,
DT

Didn't someone who has already been mentioned in this thread just get their wrist slapped for posting in the same thread with two different acounts...

The whole thing smelt fishy to me - Arms East had been trying very hard for a long time to bring these in - and then all of a sudden someone I had never heard of before claims to have the legal issues squared away, be the sole Kel-Tek distributer in Canada and prepared to sell the RFB very shortly...

Nobody wants an RFB more than I do, but this sounds too god to be true, so it probably is right?

I don't. Your disappearing act in the Bersa thread says a lot. Hopefully Vault goes ahead with complete success.

Bersa is back with the Argentine govt and will happen.

The first go around we were getting the Bersa order filled stateside, then US distributor went t**s up after we had guns licensed.

Nothing to do with Keltec, whom we have received what we could get licensed, with guns in customers hands over the past few weeks.

I also hope a company can get the RFB in quickly, and will order one from whomever gets them.

What I was getting at was you said some like 3-4 weeks. Then for several months to this day you said absolutely nothing. If you can deliver then that's great, otherwise I hope things work out for other dealers. Any stock of this rifle is going to get eaten up quick. Hell I think $2000+ on almost any .223/.308 semi-auto is stupid but I am looking forward to buying an RFB...
