Kel-Tec SU-16f

Hey all,

I'm thinking about getting a Kel-Tec SU-16f. Does anyone have any experience with it? Who sells it and has cheap shipping? I'm in Eastern Canada.

Dantesports.com has them in stock last time i checked. They ship as well. they are located in Montreal, QC
Ive done business with them a few times, and was always satisfied...

As for the SU-16, for the price, for me, it would be between the SU-16 and a mini 14, The Mini is an all around more reliable weapon (my opinion), but the SU-16 will serve you well. It also takes AR mags!! BIG PLUS!

I bought my Kel Tec from Reliable Gun in Vancouver. I have no idea about their shipping cost as I drove down and shopped. I've put many hundreds of rounds through mine without so much as a hiccup. It tricks out nice too.

I bought mine from Wanstalls, and even though they are out in BC their shipping was very fast and reasonable, but they dont seem to have any more right now. I think SFRC just got some in though. And yes they defiantly trick out nice :D

psssh, don't even have a flashlight on there ;) Pretty sure I've seen this thread a few times but it usually turns into a conversation about what other guns to get instead by the third page. I too am considering an SU16 but after finally handling one the other day, I wasn't impressed by the polymer receiver. I've seen airsoft guns that look better than this particular one did. I mean it felt solid enough and everything but the mags feel like toys and didn't release smoothly and the seams on the rail made it look less than stellar as an optics platform. Please dispel these concerns for me, because I'm probably still getting one anyway.

The factory mags are plastic #### and pinned at 5rds which is why everyone I know that has an SU-16 uses 10rd LAR pistol mags. You have your choice of optics for it and the stock rail handles them quite well. I put the CASV on my rifle before it fired it's first shot but I've had a full scope on it, iron sites, red dot and now settled on the ACOG and MBUS.

Bingo !....:wave:

The factory mags are best "left in the stock" to provide some small, incremental/additional measure of weight/rigidity there....;)....then just use any STANAG magazine :D , esp. the LAR-15's !.....:cool:

And yes :yingyang: , the "stock" integral rail is surprisingly pleasant and sturdy - able to accomodate full-size scopes in a compact OA arrangement even when the rifle is folded !.........w:h:
 
I have one, a friend has one and a few others have mini-14s. The keltec is much lighter, folds up into a smaller package and more accurate than any of the Rugers we have compared them too. in the long term, I think the Rugers will outlast the Keltecs due to better construction and materials. The SU-16 has more perceived recoil due to its lighter weight. Muzzle flash and report are more severe than most other .223s i have shot. similar to a 14.5" AR with a brake. personally I'm glad I chose the SU-16, it's a great ATV/truck gun and has replaced my old AR-7 in that role.

I also have the Keltec AR style stock and forend. I prefer the factory folder over the AR style stock myself for fit. For looks the AR stuff is cool though.

There is a video of a newer Mini14 on the post about the M305 vs the Mini14. I have a new respect for them. Actually there is 2 videos. Mine I had that was like the ATeams, kinda sucked for accuracy. Loved the folding stock though. The Keltec seems like a fun gun and because its nonrestricted it seems to make it a must to own. I've added it to my list now. Along with:
-Tavor
-KSG
-KRISS
-RFB
And the list goes on.........and on.
 
I want to be included. Enjoying mine, but get stovepipes time to time.
The stock... stock, isn't my favourite, if the ar style adapter wasn't so expensive I'd buy one.
