Kel-Tec SU-16f

I noticed a few owners of SU 16 mention they get good accuracy. What kind of 100yd group is the gun able to produec??

would love to know how accurate it is as well.
ive been told about 3-4 MOA, can it be modded in order to improve that?

There's been several that have posted their range results and I believe 2-3 is average for them. Some of the guys on KTOG are showing pics of targets doing 1-2" groups at 100yd. Seems the factory sights are hard to get consistent with but use of 3 or 4x optics gets them tighter.

I'd like to see someone put one on a random rest and see how accurate it is and remove the human aspect. I'm betting that rifle has an incredible accuracy.

Hey all, I have been doing alot of reading about the Kel-Tec SU 16A and F models. The 16A is the basis for the F model or "Canadian Version". The question I have is whether or not the SU16F is chambered for 5.56 and 223 remington?

All of the Canadian dealers only state 223 remington on their websites and when I call, they say they can't import the 5.56 version to Canada, which I thought was strange, but I'm no expert on import laws.

This begs the question, is the 16 F just re-stamped 223 in order to satisfy the import laws, but in actual fact was specifically chambered to fire 5.56?

Understanding of course that a 223 chambered rifle can technically fire 5.56 ammo but due to higher pressure issues is not recommended.

"Using 5.56 mm NATO mil-spec cartridges (such as the M855) in a .223 Remington chambered rifle can lead to excessive wear and stress on the rifle and even be unsafe."

I was hoping a Kel-Tec SU16F owner/or a dealer could help clarify.

I'm guessing for simplicity they wouldn't retool a whole line to make different barrels, which would be a huge waste of money. The easier thing to do would be to just stamp them in .223. Wouldn't make sense logically.

The gun is just stamped .223, it is a 5.56 chamber. It was stamped .223 for export from the states I think, some legal issue on one side of the border or the other.

It comes back to the 5.56mm being a "military" caliber so I believe that makes it much more difficult (impossible now?) to get an export permit to ship it out of the States.

I'm still on the fence. There is just way too many things that I want. I will likely, eventually get one, but with the FAMAE Saf out now and another well known trouble maker on here is trying to get me a PSD in FDE(tan). I'm screwed. Anybody highering? I need another job.

I bought my Kel Tec from Reliable Gun in Vancouver. I have no idea about their shipping cost as I drove down and shopped. I've put many hundreds of rounds through mine without so much as a hiccup. It tricks out nice too.

Where do you get this carrying handle?

Yeah, and I bet it doesn't weigh 5-6 pounds anymore either. Guys where can you buy the AR folding stock and pistol grip for this beast?

The carrying handle came from Amazon.com. The rifle still weighs under 10lbs. Aside from the ACOG which came off one of my other rifles, I'm into it for $1200.

Very interesting...I like it...especially with the extra's.

P@rick, Silent..and Satain: may I be so bold as to request listing your upgrades?
