It def was your SU that gave me the idea of the free floating rail and some ones link to Vltor pointed me at what it was called. A little searching and the rail was gotten.

Can't wait to see what your Ahah's turn out to be.
 
Holy hell those vltor rails are expensive.

Ridiculous. $800 rifle, $200 handguard, $200 ar stock adapter.
Unrestrict the AR15, my wallet begs it.
 
My rail is a copy of the Vltor and came in at $49.99. yeah I couldn't justify spending $200 on a rail. Here's the link to where I got it from.

I had to take a bit of material off where it goes over the gas tube, but a simple file took care of it and it went on great.

The bipod is an NCStar piece I picked up from a certain gun store in Winnipeg. Here's a link to it from a site I often order stuff from.

wow, that is a lot better then taking material off a $200 forend.

Do you know how much farting around I had to do then bomb it afterwards with black paint. f:P:
Excuse me I got to go cry:mad:
 
It actually bolted right on as it was but due to the material on the 2 ribs that tie the bottom and top together being a little thick over top of the gas tube, I filed it down a little bit so it actually didn't contact the tube anymore. It's bolted onto the rail and fully floats over the barrel/gas tube.
