Kel-tec SU16FA back

They are quite the light weight rifle ,ya ! They feel cheap and can be finicky to get back together. But they do shoot quite well for what they are .great truck gun! I cut a sleeve off a old jacket and use it as a holster/ case .

Absolutely agree.
Pretty decent rifle for what they are and rather novel.
The biggest thing against it is that it is so light it feels cheap.

Still on the fence for buying one. I sold all my 223 556 guns last year and wanted to stick to a few calibers like 9 mm. I always wanted one but never could find one new.
So trying to decide if I want to get back into 556/223. Decisions decisions

I had one and got rid of it before I even shot it.

It felt cheap and flimsy and I couldn’t get past it. I really wanted to like it but lots of my shooting is right down to -45 degrees, with lots more around the -20 mark, and I didn’t think it’d stay together. Same reason I sold my AR180B.

The plastic top rail is not the best platform for tightening down scope mounts. I always worry about wrecking the rail by overtightening.

That's a good point. Not a great platform for a QD optic mount that you want to regularly mount and unmount. But if you're going to leave an optic mount in place, I'd have no concerns.

Of course, with the rifle's takedown procedure, you have to make sure your optic is not too long. The piston/bolt assembly requires clearance above and immediately in front of the receiver.

I just received from this batch. Happy so far. Fired reliably. Last one I had was reliable but only about a 3 moa shooter I got rid of it for this reason but now thanks to Trudeau's may 2020 gun ban the alternatives for stanag compatible firearms is not endless.

So mine just showed up and it's probably gonna be sent back, the lower will not fit into the upper, try and slide them into each other and it just hits. And the trigger polymer looks like it's separating at the seam like it was a bad molding

Mine was the same way. Ended up fitting together eventually. Trigger guard is annoying but seems like it's kind of par for the course with these

So with a closer look my box does say it was shipped with a 5 round mag.

"SU16FA CAN BLACK
5RD MAGAZINE .223"

In order for the lower to fit into the upper I had to loosen all the screws by the magwell spread it then rock the lower into place and tighten the screws back down.

Also I see no vault warranty card like all the other keltecs I have bought, so is there no warranty on these ones I'm confused a little bit here.

That's a good question for your retailer.

I've always wondered why Vault bothered with the fancy "certificate of ownership" in the first place, it seems like a gimmick. Or do they actually require it before they'll warranty anything?

I think they've come down in price. I saw some for ~$1100 a few months ago at a couple retailers, but now as low as ~$850.

A few KelTec firearms have followed this trend on the recent import, it's a nice change.
