Kel Tec Sub-2000 vs. Just Right Carbine

Have you considered the Beretta Storm rifles? A bit more expensive but much higher quality and more attractive. Also very easy to field strip.

I strongly considered the Beretta Storm. The fact that they are restricted, plus expensive, plus they don't take Glock magazines, made me a bit nervous. If it was unrestricted, I would buy one in a second. If it accepted Glock magazines, I would buy one in a second. But I kind of figured if I was purchasing a rifle, I want something non-restricted.

But, if it is super easy to field strip and clean, I might have to reconsider.

Don't overlook the Hi-Point 4095TS $399.oo at Epps.
A 40S&W carbine, every bit as good as their pistols!

Definitely looks like a cool gun too. And cheap, so I would buy it without worry. I am shying away from it, because of restricted status, and because of the 5 round limit. If I could use a 10 round magazine, this is what I would get without a doubt!

Anyway, both are super good suggestions, so thanks!

I have also been considering a carbine kit for a Glock pistol as well... but they are almost as much as a carbine (or more than the carbine, in the case of the hi point).

Buy a JR and don't look back. Th thureon has not arrived.... I am sure it will, because armseast has a solid rep..... But it isn't here now! The highpoint is a cool looking gun, but restricted. The storm is restricted, expensive, and will cost you an extra 5 bones to convert to non restricted, but a good gun by reputation none the less. That K-Tel folding job is is a toy, fun no doubt, but still a toy. I own a JR, and it is fun, inexpensive, reliable, and very customizable, and solid like rock, with all aluminum build! It is accurate too, very accurate at 15 yards......LOL!! As far as breaking down to clean, I can have it apart in 5 minutes, and it is a snap to clean. Yes, you can't pop a couple pins to clean it up, but it's not a battle rifle, and we are not trying to clean up our carbine with rounds snapping past our ears on the battlefield, so this is a non issue to me! If it is to you, perhaps don't consider it as your zombie defense choice...lol! Otherwise for the range shooter, or casual field plinker, or hunt camp pop can killer, it is an excellent choice for the money!

Barrel length is 17.5 inches. Here's a gun where getting a special run for Canada would not affect the looks at all. :)

Wonder if they would do it for us?

They`ve been asked to in the past, but the answer was no. Apparently, they can barely keep up with demand of the carbines stateside, so taking time out of production to re-tool for our market is just out of the question.

The word on this last time it was discussed is basically that the manufacturer seels these fast as they can already produce em and doesnt care for the extra work. The barrel is part of the reciever apparently so there is no easy fix.

If hi-point was interested in our market they could sell a #### ton of their 9mm pistols as well I would imagine, but as of right now it is .40, and .45 only which I am simply not interested in.

Not used the JR but have sub2000 + quadrail (its not plastic) and love it, over 1200 rounds through it and not a single ftf or fte.
