X2 on the desert tech...
I will wait a year before I drop money on it. Desert tech makes great bolt guns, but making serialized production of semi-auto is a different ball game. They are not a big company. I remember how much Microtech struggled with their MSAR Aug clone. Guys like LWRCI struggled a lot in the beginning to get to a level of acceptable quality these days.
Even big boys like Sig Sauer ( that has years of making pistols )has to struggle in the beginning whenever a new semi-auto rifle comes on line. They only seem to have gone better with the MCX. Beretta USA sat on the ARX100 for 2 years before they can get the manufacturing line set up properly. Even after that, they still come out with small issues in the first batch.
