I'm currently debateing which one to buy they are around the same price and both are non restricted so I dont have to worry about locked case ect (less hassle) So what would you get and why?

Kel tec RFB because it has great reviews, you can hunt with it, and its just BA all around.

I wouldnt take the tavor because for me its not worth the money, people have said they dont like the feel of it, and I personally think it is ugly..

but thats just me! :D I plan to get an RFB eventually...

But if that is what you have narrowed it down to and you are bound by money for ammo, if you are looking to have a fun rifle you can shoot lots and is not too heavy on the wallet, well thats the tavor. (.223 is cheap compared to .308) but if you can afford ammo for lots of shooting with an RFB go for it! I have a .223 black rifle now, and plan on getting the RFB just for hunting and not so much for plinking. But I am bound by the costs of ammo.

I hope that helps.

Well Ive handled both and they both feel nice... I just plinking around I dont hunt so..

Plinking with a 308? I hope that you reload because it's a dollar per bullet.

I plink with a 45-70 as well.. you just do it at a slower speed :p

I'm leaning towarnds the RFB because I cant own a fal and that was the first gun I ever fired at age 4.. but the tavor can take the 10 rd mags..

Easy choice -

How much moolah do you have for ammo ? -

The RFB is SUPERIOR shooting and hunting gun -

The Tavor is a cheaper ammo gun with the worst trigger in history gun -

Its your budget and booger picken finger -

Where the hell are you buying your ammo? I can reload precision 155gr AMAX loads for about $0.50/round....

RFB all the way. At the current TAVOR pricing, you can buy the RFB plus 1500 rounds of ammo. Of course, that's assuming new pricing on the Tavor... you can likely find one used in the EE for around 3K. Good luck finding a used RFB!

If you're "just plinking", why not a .22 semi-auto rifle...? Very inexpensive, both gun & ammo wise...

But "all-around", the RFB seams to be superior to the Tavor (based on reviews)...

What Throttle_Monkey said.... "get both". I've had my name on the RFB list for a while, and I'm anxious to compare it to the Tavor (which I liked so much I had to get a second...). I've used the .223 for hunting the past 3 seasons with no issues whatsoever. Plus ammo is relatively inexpensive, and there is the benefit of LAR-15 magazines for the Tavor, as opposed to the more politically correct 5 round FN FAL.

The Tavor is sitting at the 3k mark, but it does come with a decent optic (new style M21 is clearly superior to the original one). The RFB comes in blind, so once you put a piece of glass on it, the numbers are going to be very close. At present, I like the look of the Tavor over the RFB - Maybe it's the lack of muzzle brake, so threading the barrel and purchasing a short, but effective brake appear to be in the very near future for my RFB - Another $200 (God I hope my wife doesn't browse these forums....)

On another note, the Tavor is a well proven rifle, with no apparent hiccups to iron out - yes the trigger is kinda long and crappy, Once used to it though, it's pretty easy to make fast accurate hits.

I plan on using the RFB for larger game, and in areas where the don't allow me to use the .223. (Nova Scotia). I've narrowed the glass down to a couple interesting yet obscure pieces... just have to see how gettable they are...:)

I currently own 3 .22 pistols... and 4 rifles in .22

I believe for whale hunting, atleast in nova scotia, the smallest caliber allowed is .243 and the minimum vessel length is 12' with a fiberglass hull and 10' with an aluminum hull. if you get caught with a .223 they'll likely take your canoe
