Since it folds over the top, what are the option for optics? Is there a solution that would avoid taking off optics every time you fold the gun?

Gen 1 or gen 2?

I am not sure if the red lion fore-end fits the gen 2.

Otherwise, the red lion fore-end is your best option.

Keltec sells a single rail section for a gen 1 that fits under the fore end. Reliable gun can get it. I mounted a Stream light laser / combo on mine. You don't need a scope. Between a laser and the iron sites you are more than fine.

If your gun has a top or side rail you can use an offset adapter to mount a small red dot.

Red Lion Precision sells an interesting quad rail design that you can rotate when you fold up theSub 2000. Im not sure if they are shipping to Canada anymore though.

Specially if you replace the plastic blade and plastic nuts with a nice fiber optic blade and some metal nuts.

Mine is dead accurate. No need to replace. Just site it in.

I didn't say the gun doesn't work out of the box...... I said the front sight blade and adjustment nuts can be improved
I prefer a round bead ,glowing fiber optic type front sight over the long orange plastic blade.
The fact it's metal is just a bonus.
No need to reply...... :)

A 45 degree offset with a Redfield Accelerator Reflex red dot is the perfect setup that still allows the gun to be folded and locked in place.

You're over thinking it.

A scope is a waste of time and money on this firearm.

Holy fvck dude, stfu!
Who are you to make a call on what someone else wants or needs? Nobody.

Sorry op, don't mean to sidetrack.
I did see a sweet setup where a guy mounted his scope to a door hinge. It was awesome. ;).

Nowhere to mount a red dot either. Just get a laser and be done with it.
