Bought off here on a 40/65. I'm guessing the markings that go 25 50 75 10 25 50 75 20 25 50 75 30
Signify marks up to 300 yds. Well I got to get a handle on this cause my meek load puts em on zero @ 100 yds with it only set at 30 yds. Argo the rest of my markings aren't worth jack.
Ways to solve? ie is there such thing as a tape with markings I can stick onto staff to correct it?

The graduation markings on the elevation (vertical) staff represent minutes of angle, and as your markings go up to 30, you likely have a long-range sight with up to 300 minutes of elevation adjustment shown in 25 minute increments. The staff is likely about 5" - 6" long, and is marked with sets of 2 digits only as the side of it is not wide enough to hold the markings in the full 3 digits from 100 up to 300
The markings do not represent yards of distance as the sights are made for use on rifles of different chamberings and calibres such as 38-55, 40-65, 45-70 up to and including 45-120, without getting into the 50 calibres.
As it's a Soule type sight, the windage markings also represent minutes of lateral adjustment.
They are all repeatable reference points for you to learn by experience as you shoot at different distances, wind conditions etc., and make notes of the settings shown on the elevation staff and windage barrel as applying to those distances and conditions.

I got it Chum, it's kind of like reading 1/5 of a vernier caliper scale

Exactly - it is a Vernier Caliper scale! If the front and rear sights are exactly 36" apart then each graduation represents 1" or 1 MOA at 100 yds. If the sights are at a different spacing the the results at the target are proportionally the same.

And they are exactly 36 and if You move it 3 @ 100 it moves up 3 inches. Spot on
