Keltec KSG, worth it?

Hi guys, for those of you who own or have used this shotgun, is this gun worth it? I like this gun a lot and want to buy one.

However, I did a bit of research, and now I am concerned about the gun's reliability, what do you think? Have you had issues with KSG? thanks and have a nice day.

I find it not very reliable. Binds up or jams a lot if you don't pump it just right. Not a gun for new or weak shooters.

Depends what you want to use it for.

I'll support what Rain said regarding it jamming if you don't work the action hard. The gun feels plasticy so working it hard feels sketchy.

KSG was my first personally owned Shotgun. It has ran perfectly in probably 2000 target loads, and 200 buck and slugs I have through it. The only problem I have had was my own mistake of not properly shuking it ONCE.

This Shotgun demands you pump it with authority and not be a limp wristed individual. If you can do this, the KSG will run 100% reliably for you. When I bring new shooters out, the first thing I tell them after the safety briefing is to rack this shotgun with conviction, as a resault it has never jamed for anyone other then myself that once. Only cleaned it once too!

Never had an issue with mine (and I've had it since day one in Canada). However, I'm heavy handed so never really noticed pumping it any different than other SG's. I like it and would buy it again. Also needs mentioning that it is John Wick approved! (for those who haven't seen the movie) :ar15:

I love mine, never had a problem yet. Its just a tiny package of baddass.
If I have to criticize it The only thing I would say is that the loading can be awkward but with the amount that it holds if you have to reload often you are probably doing something wrong.

It's not my primary / favourite / or go-to shotgun, but it fills a role and is (for now) a keeper.

No failures, no issues, no surprises.

in the forum you posted in, no it's not worth it as a hunting / sporting shotgun

in the black shotgun forum, most people would say that it is.

I couldn't agree more! But even the most serious "tactical" shotgunners will leave a KSG behind for an old school 870 or a 590A1 if the $h!+ were to hit the fan! The KSG was designed for the "gamer" generations that like to get dressed up in tacticool apparel and go play war! Nothing wrong with that but it real world situations there are way better choices of shotguns for a whole lot less coin!

I think it's cool but instead I opted for the 870, I have the stock 28" barrel for hunting critters and a 14" barrel for playing around. Just a lot more versatile in my mind. The KSG is really only good for playing around. Not to mention I paid less than half of what the KSG is worth for the whole setup (used naturally).
