KelTec RDB First in Canada Range Review (video)

So this gun is a dream comes true for those who advocate no resting on mags, because in this case it really will fail.

Holy geeze that version with the sissy grip looks really really awkward

It weighs a lot less though. Like 2lb or 3 pounds less.

Did they shoot that group off a rest off camera? Or was it just them shooting off their elbows? Not exactly the best way to test accuracy....

It'll be interesting to see if there is any performance differences compared with the regular ones once they hit Canada.

Hmmm. So, pretty much as expected, unfortunately. Another inaccurate, unreliable, expensive firearm from Keltec....

1000 + rounds in 1 year, zero problems. Eats anything it is given from Norc copper washed to Hirtenburger, and give 2-3 moa if I do my bit on a good day. No component breakage to date either. I bought it for less than a base BCL + tax and delivery.

Candocad.

Its looks like a typical Keltec. Cheap and flimsy looking. It looks like one of the cheap plastic toy guns you can buy at the dollar store.

The only Kel-Tec rifles I've handled that felt cheap, flimsy and plastic was the Sub2000 and it actually worked really well. I also owned an RFB and a KSG which were both very sold and very reliable, the RFB was also decently accurate and could shoot 1.5-2 moa with handloads.
I'd take a gen 2 RFB over a BCL-102 any day of the week.

When the day comes that I finally decide I want a bullpup rifle...... I'll go buy one of those M17s like what he had sitting on the table! I handled one for the first time this year and it was love it at first sight haha

Such a bitter comment. But I realize there are many people without disposable income to piss away on unproven products for ####es and giggles . Such as myself. I'll probably spend more on Amazon for crap I don't need in a month than this rifle is worth...what's that saying ? A fool and his money soon part ways ? Yup that's me. But I would barely even bat an eye on my bank statement .

I agree - this mirrors my experience, except that I've never tried a sub2000. Only reason I sold my RFB was the lack of ability to easily check the chamber.... which is the same reason I won't be buying an RDB

Speaking of chamber check, how is this rifle supposed to be shown as safe as a range?

I also find it BS they are giving us the California complient model to help boost the sales of that version, since they will be limited. You know, Keltec once this version quits selling in Canada will then release the normal version with a grip and bottom rail on it with the 18.5" barrel.

I think you are mistaken. That is the RDB-C, the Canadian model has the standard furniture but with a 1.5” longer barrel than the stock 17”. He probably bought that model as they are available down south and have a 20” barrel so are already NR. I don’t believe it’s California compliant without the bullet button though? The rifle grip stock started with the RDB-S, not necessarily for Cali.
