Noticed today that my RFB's extractor arms snapped. Where can I order replacement parts from? I've tried Keltec's website but they wouldnt let me check out due to Canadian address. Are there Canadian retailers that carry these parts? Im looking for part number 304, 305, and 306.

I've had to email Vault Distribution and they respond very quickly. I've had to replace the carrier and springs the service was excellent!

You can order direct from kel tec last I checked but you gotta call them and the order has to bellow a certain dollar amount Berger tax and shipping

I called Keltec and was put on hold for 1 and a half hours before I gave up and hang up on them.

Picked up my packaged from Vault Distribution today. Spoke with Gary over the phone and he mailed out the replacement parts the very same day. Not only that, but he helped me figure out what the problem was so that it doesn't happen again (was due to me using norinco ammo).

Highly recommend Vault Distribution!

I used Norinco ammo in my RFB too and while it was working I would not recommend using it again. Something about that Norinco stuff just doesn't work properly.

But I use Barnaul steel cased ammo and she runs just fine.

While I agree norinco ammo isn't the greatest, I'm always suspicious when ammo is blamed. Any more detail on what they figured happened? Great to hear they took care of you.

That's awesome vault sorted you out there.

Mine gets a steady diet of MFS steel cased and I'm happy to say I have had no issues as of yet (had it since they first came to Canada and thousands of rounds down range to date :)

I've sort of wanted an RFB for awhile. Glad to hear a positive review with a good round count. No parts breakage at all? Apologies for the thread jack.

Ben

No breakages no, the first few hundred rounds it was finicky getting the gas setting in the right places but it settled down after that with no major issues at all. I only have steel mags so don't know how the polymer ones stack up and as I said it's been cheap ammo all the way for me with the odd box of match stuff thrown in here and there.

Over gassed with hot ammo?

Yea. With the Norinco ammo, my gas setting was +4 or +5 for the bolt to lock open after the last round. I don't know much about the RFB and didn't think that would be a problem.

moyle_tom, I have 4 polymer mags. 1 feeds perfect, the other 3 dont feed the very last round. I'm not sure if this is cause of the ammo. I have some PMC ammo coming in and will test them when I get them.

Been running the Thermold mags for a while, they work like a dream.

@Tiker: If you're running +4 or +5 you can't be over gassed...unless you're doing your gas adjustment wrong. The hotter the ammo the more clicks from bottom you should be, so all things considered that means Norinco ammo is pretty soft shooting. Also whats the head stamp on the Norinco ammo you're using?

I'm probably about 2200 rounds into mine. Only problems i've had were cracked case heads with Tula. Accuracy was crap with those too so i'm never using that stuff again. Since then i've run Norinco at B+12 no problems at all and it actually groups ok at ~2 moa. PMC 147 grain also has run flawlessly at B+33 and ~1.5 moa. All groups were shot on a bench mono podding off a fore grip.

Otherwise, i have a chipped take down pin which means i can rotate the pin and remove it from the receiver entirely, but that was entirely my fault for trying to slam the pin in place when i wasn't quite sure how things were supposed to line up.

My norinco ammo is stamped CJ96.
Isn't it lower the number, the more gas it send to the action? If your norinco ammo is run at +12, what could cause mine to be run at +4/+5?

Also, it depends on the generation of the rifle right? Mine is a Gen 2.

Yes that is correct, what i meant is that the load you're shooting itself provides less gas.

as for the setting difference between yours and mine, i'd assume it's simply due to variances in manufacturing tolerances. Mine is also a gen 2. I wonder whether the variances are a problem specific to Keltec or if all manufacturers have it, just that other firearms are more forgiving of such differences due to having more room for bolt over travel.

After replacing the extractor arm, running PMC ammo at +13.

Everything seems fine except sometimes the charging handle does not slide fully forward. Leaving maybe a 1/2 - 1 inch gap right at the front. I can force it closed with my hand, but any idea what causes this?

That wiggle or gap is what was happening on mine until Vault sent me a new oprod/ bolt carrier.
