Keltec RFB, worth buying or avoid ?

Hi, Ive got the chance to buy a Keltec RFB, but at 2700 bucks its a big decision.
The little Ive found out about them seems to indicate they are not totally reliable.
If any body has any experience with this system, good or bad, Id appreciate reading your opinions.
308 Bullpup, unrestricted............Sound too good to be true...so whats the catch, theres always a catch.

I have one of the first that came into the country...only issue I've ever had was with my father in laws handloads...they would FTF regularly (his fault) and the supplied mag (very tight). With commercial ammo (and better mags) I've never had an issue. Would I buy one again? Yes. Remember that it does have a gas system that can be regulated so you need to adjust that to the ammo your using. Once set, you're good to go. The rest of what's good about it you've already touched upon.
 
I had one and sold it because I don't thi k the plastic would have held up under hard use was very accurate for what it was though
 
Do you like the looks of a bullpup? Its barely over 2feet long, it's a powerful .308 and it's non restricted!!!

I use it primarily for target practice, mfs ammo + RFB = day time visible muzzle blast!

Concerns, my gas system is adjusted to the max when using 150gr ammo but it does run flawlessly
I find ammo cost very high for me

The catch: I now want a 32" barreled RFB to replace my bench rest/long range gun
Bottom line: I will never sell my RFB!

Buy one but $2700 seems high. I paid less than that for my gen 2 new. Pretty sure it was $2400 plus tax and shipping from Epps.

I love mine and it works well with my DSA 5/5, 5/20, 5/30, and Thermold 5/20 mags. I have shot 147gr S&B and a few 150gr Remington core-Lok and have had no malfunctions. Accuracy is decent but definitely not a sniper rifle.

It is a little bit of pain in butt setting up the gas system but easy to do once you play with it a little.

Definitely a great rifle if you like bullpups and can afford to feed it.

Don't listen to the crap about it being plastic, it has metal everywhere it needs it and feels very solid while still being really light and easy to shoulder.
 
I have one,I use it for hunting,It took a while to figure out the gas settings and right ammo.I love the gun it is nice and compact and as for accuracy I run a 3.5 acog and hit pie plate size gongs at 270 yards consistently.absolutely no regrets in buying one.
 
I have a DS, and love it. Great bush gun too! Seems to like the PPU ammo the best (145grain I think). Easily moa shooter, ( the gun not me).

Why a gen 2? The gen 1 have ben proven to be as relyable as the gen 2 ( gen 2 got a cheaper to manifacture gaz system)

Love my DS edition took 3 deer to date! Very accurate and relyable ( exept one problamatic mag). This is my most presus gun!
 
I have a Gen 2 . I have never had a problem with it and it is accurate as hell.
Currently my favorite rifle. I use it for target shooting and hunting, great all around firearm!!
 
Every time I think about my gen1 RFB I smile in wonder that I can own a .308 unrestricted bull pup in Canada. Mine is less than MOA with handloads and the first shot from a cold barrel goes in with the rest. Best group to date is .500" at 200 yards and best groups are always from a bipod and no rear bag. Buy it!! You won't be sorry.

Mind if I ask what bullets and powder your using? Crony numbers?
I'm getting ready to try loading for mine and looking for ideas on what to start with.
I have some 147gr tracers that should be fun but I don't expect sub moa out of them.
 
I really like my Keltec RFB gen 2. Once I figure out how to fix the scope mount issue I am having Im sure i will love my RFB :).
 
Technically brilliant and absolutely innovative company.
I had one but am too much of a wus for such a short .308.

I suppose I will get a SU16 eventually just to support and encourage the company.
 
Mine set up for hunting.

VXIII 2.5-8 x 36 for the medium to long range stuff, a FastFire II riding piggyback for the close in stuff..PERFECT for dogging

Mine is set up for hunting, as well as range blasting. :)

It's a pretty sweet rifle... HEAVY as hell, but very short (like 26.1") and accurate enough for my needs.
