Been around Ar's, Garands and M14's but have an itch to try these newish KelTecs. Are they any good? Heard very conflicting reports. Enlighten me oh wise ones.

I own one of the DS models. Well balanced, very accurate, crisp trigger, (surpisingly so for a bullpup). I love mine. I have heard of issues some people have had, I've been fortunate not to experience them.

Most issues ppl have are from over-gassing the gun or from bad milsurp mags. In general they are good gun.

Mine is a first-gen rfb-c.

I really like my RFB because it's super compact & fun to shoot!

I have shot honest 1 inch groups at 100m with Norma Match 168gr HPBT factory ammo. I do find the RFB very difficult to bench, it's just so dang compact that sandbagging the back end is tough. It is also picky about ammo & the gas setting. In my experience, you can't just stuff any mix of ammo through the RFB, you have to get the gas setting right for the ammo you are using...

Cheers

If you decide on one make sure you get on one of the retailers back order list as these are always in short supply. We only get 3-5 at a time every couple of months. Phil.

Mine is an excellent shooter, and it'll throw loonie sized groups all day long with 168 Ballistic Silvertips. I have a Gen 1 gas system as well - easy to adjust but to echo what Jay says you can't juat toss anything into it and expect 100 percent function. I run mine with just enough gas to cycle the action reliably. I have had zero issues with this gun and once we're back to a double income family i'll probably treat myself to another one.

This is a robust and remarkably compact rifle. I used it last year for deer and on our first day out I received an injury to my right hand that needed a surgical repair and therfore out of commission. The next day, I swapped the charging handle and sling over to a left hand setup and voila, I was back in the game. Did I mention how ambidextrous this gun is...

The RFB is an excellent rifle, and still in good demand - so if you bought one and reall didn't like it I can't see it being too much trouble to sell it off and pick something else.
