Keltec su-16

The only reason I can see people saying they feel cheap is brava use they are light weight and a polymer rifle. I personally have loved mine since I got it. I've ran 6 lar15 10rd mags back to back outta mine with cheap norinco surplus ammo with zero FTF and zero FTE. Some people may have problems but for me, mine has been almost flawless. I've shot close to 1k rounds out of it with maybe 2-3 FTF or FTE. To me it's a really good fire arm. For a non restricted black style rifle that you can shoot in the bush I consider it a+++. My only real complaint I have had with mine was the crappy bipod fore end that came with it. It's useless. Replaced that with a compact fore end from keltec and love it. I also have the pistol grip at stock for mine. And a lucid hd7 red dot. And it's in the shop getting the barrel threaded and a dlask a6 muzzlebrake put on.

I highly recommend this rifle for anyone looking for a cheaper alternative to a NR black rifle. Not everyone can afford a tavor or an XCR.

They do feel cheap but they're so light you'll probably out shoot your friends with AR's after their arms get tired!

ARs are stuck the range. Oh, the su16 wouldn't of even been on my radar if I could of purchased an AR for hunting. I'd probably throw a ton of money at one, but at least I could build it exactly how I want it. xcr, tavors, su16s, mini14s, you're pretty much stuck with whatever factory gives you.

im curious what you plan on hunting with the su16? wolf? coyote? its definately not a deer gun and is too powerful for gophers IMO. i plan on using mine for wolf at my parents cabin as wolf are open season and no bag limit and have been declared varmint basically as they are endangering the deer population in the area.

Not sure how that makes any sense, su16 and mini14 can be completely tricked out to look like whatever you like. The XCR is the most modular firearm out there on the market today, and as for the tavor, obviously you are stuck with that it is, its a bullpup.

not sure how you make any sense...
a gunsmith can trick out a mini14(ASI can make an accurate one for a large price)
no gunsmith can change the SU16 barrel
XCR is basically stuck with the factory barrel
tavor is a tavor.

Predator hunters are using Ar15s cause they be built to shoot. The above you're stuck with factory accuracy.
I not interested in tacticool, save that for my rimfires.

The VQ Evolution is being considered if finances improve. Apparently it's a 2yr wait for one.

I have a su16F with ar stock "kit" and it's okay. adding 5-15 optics on it next week to try, will use it to shoot at the range, will report accuracy.
might end up witha 1-4 scope but I want to have some fun BR shooting it at 200 yards so I'll try it with a 5-15 scope

This is my su16. Personally I love it. Haters gonna hate.

I wouldn't expect too much out of it at 200yds. Owning one myself and loving it, to me it's a 50yd plinker. Or course runner for CQB. Though my barrel is quite long. By no means is it a tack driver at long distances. It's a fun short range gun. As long as you don't have your expectations super high for something like that it's a great gun. I bought mine knowing my plans for shooting it and think its great for my purpose.

Again though.... Haters gonna hate. I'm sure more will chime in with negative comments and proceed to tell us how their alternative that they own is 10000000% better. To each his own. Like mine or others or don't. But please keep your elitist comments to yourself.

I just hate the fact that the receiver is plastic, and that the receiver is not aligned with the barrel on mine, sights have to be on left most to shoot straight.
Some failures with brass ejection also, doesnt happen on my norinco ar15 (norc has never had a failure, keltec has a few once in a while)

it came that way from factory? i would talk to vault about that. doesnt quite seem right. which type of ammo do you run in yours? i personally run cheap norinco surplus ammo and have no problems with failures. i do a lot of rapid shooting also.

I have one. i have since removed the front built in bi-pod and replaced with the compact fore-end. I have also put on the AR style pistol grip stock. With that stock it still does fold but it not very much. I use LAR15 mags as well as PMAGS and both work fine. the mags that come from the factory with it in my experience were junk. Over all i love mine. Currently i have it out at DLASK gettin the barrel threaded and a compensator installed. My red-dot just got here in the mail today for it as well. I will post pictures of it once i get it back and all together.

To those that would tell you to save up for a different rifle that you dont need to upgrade... that is an option but for people like myself who have a hard time saving up enough for A tavor or XCR, It has allowed me to get a rifle that i find to be fun, and functional. piece by piece. At the end of the day, Haters gonna Hate. everyone has their opinion. Its too bad you arent in the lower mainland or you could come and try mine out before investing the money.

How much to get the barrel threaded, if you don't mind me asking

You have a very realistic view of the firearm. If someone buys one with this post in mind, they should be happy with the purchase.

Are the pistol grips available for these now? I remember looking at these a few months ago and everything was sold out.

Or maybe you guys found another way to get a pistol grip on these???
