well thats good news! I called vault on friday and they told me they had to finish re barrelling them this week and they would be sent out. they go ground to the border so that will take 8-10 days then hopefully they dont sit in customs since they already came across once already. then prolly another 1-2 weeks to get to the retailers. hope to have mine in my hands by the end of the month! I have a pile of stuff I already bought for this rifle LOL

Have you already paid for it?

Why won't Vault ship you the rifle directly as soon as they receive it?

That's what I hope they're gonna do for me, at least.. my rifle's been bought and paid for. No need to include the retailer any more.

Your situation might be different as I already had this rifle in my possession (thinking everything was peachy, might I add, ntil I logged on to CGN a couple days later).

I also bought some accessories that are getting lonely. Magpul CTR and RVG in FDE, and a Bushnell Trs-25

yes I have already paid for it. I look at my receipt like its a investment statement LOL I bought it through my local gun retailer that deals with vault. vault will be shipping it to them then I just go and pick it up.

I know there is some hard feelings from some of the owners who bought them before the barrel problem. If there is anyone who won't go through with it and does not want a model with the 18" barrel. I would go for it!

I just got off the phone with kel tec and the guy on the phone had no knowledge of any large batch of rifles coming back to get rebarreled. He told me to get a hold of vault. Im fed up and am going to get refunded.

Just got off the phone with vault, they told me only SOME of the rifles are confirmed shipped on their way to canada. Some of the rifles receivers cracked when they swapped out the barrels!!! Im done with kel tec I sold my pre order to a friend that doesnt mind waiting. This whole situation has put me off kel tec. The receivers cracked brand new?!?! Imagine how tough it would be to get warranty down the road. BTW kel tec did not build these rifles, vault did thats why you dont see them listed or even mentioned on kel tecs website. To risky for my money im out. Good luck to everyone else!

Wow, what a schmozzle.

Am I ever glad that I did a return immediately. I had a hunch that it wasn't going to be a smooth replacement process when we were told to send them to Vault. This story seems to be getting worse and worse. A sincere wish of good luck to all of those who are going to stick it out.

Our collective dream of a sub-$1500, non-restricted semi-auto .223/5.56 appears to remain elusive.

This whole situation is FUBAR. I'm glad I didn't go this route and instead bought a VZ58 NR .223 I feel bad for the guys that put there hard earned money towards this. You can't blame anyone but Vault they dropped the ball. Watching this sh*t show unfold makes me sick. Sorry to the guys that have there guns in limbo but it sounded to good to be true from the beginning.

Sad ... but true.
