also, how do you lock the bolt open? I manually push a pin inside the magwell, but there has to be another way no?

Besides racking the action on an empty mag no other way to hold the action open. Actually if you tig weld a tab on there you can convert it into a bolt release too
As for KelTec manual contact Vault Distibuation and they should send you one although they don't have as great customer serviece as if you talk to KelTec direct. Also YouTube has vids on how to do stuff to your rig.

On my SU-16 the bolt hold open can be activated by pushing the square metal button to the rear of the magwell in while the bolt is open.
Also here is a link to a PDF version of the manual for the SU-16A, which is the closest thing to the SU-16F in the states. It describes the disassembly, but YouTube videos work just as well.
