Keltec sub 2000 gen 2

The one for 775 with a trs25 and a couple extra mags? ;)

Picked mine up on lunch break, from the post office, today. Got a quick box of handloads through it after work. I personally prefer it to my CX4. The CX4 is nice and all... But it is unnecessarily bulky and not as well balanced as the sub2000... Just my opinion.

She seemed to like my lead cast and powder coated .356 sized 9mm. I will need to sight her in a bit I think though. She seemed to be shooting right a tad... but it was dusk and all.

Oh! One fail to eject... But handloads and brand new... don't really count

OK, so I found your post intriguing. I'm seriously considering both the Sub 2K and the CX4, and since you own both, you're telling us you actually prefer the Sub2K? I like the price, Glock mags and foldability of the Sub2K over the CX4. However, I've only handled one and not shot it. I did get to try shooting another guy's CX4 at the range the other day and loved it. So, I'm torn. If you had to pick only one, it would be the Sub2K?

How are your sub2000's faring now after a few months? I just picked one up from my local shop but have yet to get it out to the range. Already ordered a angled foregrip (copy of a magpul) and just for poops and squeaks put a cheap laser on the bottom rail. I am a bit of a bigger guy and I find I have to really press down into the buffer tube to get a proper sight picture, not painfully so but enough for me to think "well this kinda sucks eh?". But I have found that Midwest industries makes an M lock side mount swivel red dot mount for the gen2 so you are able to keep your red dot on at all times and still folds up nice so I think I will be getting that!

Has anyone found a good source for after market parts? My local shop carries most of the Mcarbo kits but they are a touch pricey, but with our dollar the way it is ording from them directly is as well. Anyone try a muzzle brake yet? What are your guys' favourite upgrades?

I am just waiting for some parts out of McCarbo. So far great company to deal with despite the dollar exchange rate. Parts are pricey but from what I hear they are quality items. I'll post pics once I get the parts installed. I intend to use the gun as my "truck" gun. Loaded hot with solids out of 18 inch barrel should be the ticket with anything I might run into.

I intend to run some IDPA drills to see which of the following works best for me. Which ever gun rises to the top will be my competition toy. Right now I have a:

CX4 Storm with a Sparc2 mounted

Kle Tec Sub 2K stock sights with a Vortex Strikefirer as a possibility using a McCarbo mount

Ruger PCC with a Vortex Strikefire as a possibility.

So far all triggers are stock. All will work but the Ruger and Sub2k are both much better than the stock CX4 Storm. All three have been dead nuts reliable using my lead & FMJ bullet reloads and factory 147 gr FMJ. Not much air between them. The downside to the CX4 Storm is the fact it is restricted. Not an issue if it is just used for playing the games. It is also shorter than the others which is an advantage when shooting around barricades.

Well off a bench mine is shooting 4" high at 15 yards. Ordered a front sight tool from amazon. Until then, I will work on my Ruger PCC. It gets a Strikefire as soon as the Canadian Post Office steps on the gas. The Sub2K is badly in need of a decent set of irons and perhaps am Optic. I intend to use it for my truck gun using hot 147 gr FMJ bullets. Not sure I want an Optic sight on the Sub2K. Pocket book wil determine.

Put a Strikefire on it and the gun is very accurate out to 40 yards or so. I did get a tool to adjust the front sight. Alas it did not fit the Front sight. Anyone know of a sight tool that will fir the front sight of the Gen 2 Sub2k? When funds permit I will get a swing out mount fot the gun. Until then I will live with the presnt arrangement.

Pictures to follow.

OK, got the tool to adjust the front sight. Didn't cost much which was a good thing. Since putting on the Strikefire11 on the gun the irons are not likely ever going to be used. The factory irons are way to low on the gun for me to have any practical value. They do work but I have to really want to use them!

Love the gun, decent but not great trigger. There are upgrades you can buy if the trigger really bothers someone. This gun will not replace my CX4 Storm that I use for IDPA PCC shooting but will serve as a truck gun. Fun little shooter for sure.
