How much money do you want to spend? Any where from $600 up for a Kentucky Rifle. Are you being specific in rifle style?

Well probably not $1200 its my fathers XMAS gift he would not be please with that much spent on him but i figured $400 to max $600 but i will have to see

Is he handy with tools? Track of the Wolf sells some kits that would make a great gift if he's inclined to work with his hands. Other sellers, too.

"...I figured $400 to..." Look into a Traditions rifle. Epp's is listing a Traditions 26" barreled, .50 calibre, Pennsylvania(pretty much the same as a Kentucky) flintlock at $406.86.

Unfortunately after 30yrs in the infantry and at 67 yrs of age his hands are not as nimble as they once where. but that would be up his ally
