Key hole shaped flash hole

I've had similar keyholes before and I chucked the brass, and it wasn't a .300 WinMag. I wouldn't mess with one of those.

I don't think it will hurt anything... Pressure is the same on both sides of primer pocket when you fire it is it not?

I have had a couple oversize flash holes and they act like a very high over pressure load and expand the primer pocket radically and spew gases back through the action and bolt................SCRAP IT FOR SURE !!!!!!!!

jetting effect of the primer flame will be lessened with a larger orifice.

So making it a hotter or cooler bang?
I'll admit I never had one as bad as in that pic OP posted, but I've loaded quite a few with oblong looking holes from the factory and didn't notice any difference. I think I'm still using some of them too.
Now that I think about it they were all Remington brass as well....oblong or very off-center punched holes in a batch of 1F i got.
