Key things to know about TT33?

I have not had my tokarev for long 2 months. It is fun to shoot can hit a plate size target 6/10 with me and Norinco non corrosive.

For the life of me I can not see how I could jam my hand in the slide as it cycles or at the hammer anymore than I could on any other semiautomatic. I am 5ft10 have average to large hands and this pistol is very easy to handle. Also it is fun to shoot with a single hand as I think it was designed for use.

Just use a normal grip on this thing and won't hurt you at all. Bare bones pistol at its finest. Nothing extra and they look and work great like all russian firearms.

I found my Polish tt was much more accurate than my Russian copy, but, the Polish is new unrefurbed and the Russian is refurbed and looks it!

I put in the new mainspring from a Wolff set. Didn't notice a big difference... Mostly peace of mind.

Same here.... My barrel looked like crap when I bought it but t shoots like a tack. It's actually super tight and everything you would expect from a 70 year old Russian military firearm. Best $200 I have ever spent.

Had several over the years, only 2 complaints 1) is magazines can hang up on the trigger bars in the mag well not allowing them to seat into the pistol in one motion & 2) Magazines can be a pain in the ass to locate at times......only $30 at the time so when I did find them I'd be ALL OF THEM.

Last time I got a set, it was direct from Wolff Springs.

I broke my firing pin split retaining pin and I only dryfired my 1949 Russian Tok a couple of times.

It took a long time to find a replacement so when I found a supplier I bought two.

I did manage to make a temporary retaining pin by cutting a drill bit to the proper length and then duct taping the pin into the slide (it looked very Bubba).

I love my Tokerav, I have never had any issues with it, thae ammo is cheap, is accurate, my only warning is to clean it as soon as your done shooting and after a day or to wipe it down again or it will rust really badly

Dead simple to clean.
Accuracy is minute of barn door.
There are spare parts available if required but sometimes hard to find.
A WHOLE lot of fun.

Don't agree with the minute of barn door. They were designed to be able to hit a man at 25 yards. Mine can do that easily. On the other hand they are certainly not a Pardini or any other target grade handgun. Everything else is spot on.

Mine is extremely accurate - love it - just a little snappy for my liking.

Definitely worth the $200 though

I put Wolff spring in mine as well as the +5% mag springs and a new extractor. World of difference!

yes it has a tendency to "slam fire" if you leave the slide "open" and palm the mag in. at our range we always tell everyone (on any semi) to load with the slide "closed" insert the mag and then cycle the slide. while I haven't had a "slam fire" myself, I have had the slide close on me after I palmed the mag in.

Very true..it will rust out very quick . The ammo is very corrosive but its not a concern aslong as you clean after the range

I used gorilla tape: black is less visible than silver.

After a box and a half of the S&B factory ammo, I got tired of the snappiness, and decided to reload for it instead. I use a 110gr projectile and it now feels more like a 9mm for recoil.

I've never fired corrosive in mine.

Be sure to read Travis Bickle's excellent sticky on the TT, up at the top. That really helped a lot to improve the trigger on mine.
