Keymod handguards opinions wanted...

M-loks are ###y. BTW, how different is the Mlok compare to their MOE stuff? What I mean is I have a couple of their direct attach vertical grip for the moe handguard and 870 foreend, will they go directly onto a Mlok handguard?

Edit: never mind, I found the answer on magpul's website. Its sorta backward compatible with the use of an adapter

I know it wasn't on your list, but you should consider the Midwest Industries. They're carried by CTCS, almost as light as the BCM, and a lot less money.

the weird barrel nut thing and drilling the hole in the upper receiver for the pin, making sure everything is aligned.

Secondly the hole and dowel pin is really not required.
I have one that has been together for 2 years without one and I doubt that something torqued to 40 ft-lbs.

Got a midwest on my 308 g2 and had an nsr on my old noveske 16" rifle.
I like the narrower profile the keymod provides. It feels very natural, like I'm pointing my ####, but bullets come out, awesome.

Yup. My game plan is if a Noveske 11" rail comes up first, I'll use that on my 12.5" barrel upper. Seeing that it's a bit of a unicorn, my backup options are the 13" BCM or last resort 13" Giessele MK8 SMR and install that in my DD M4V5 and I'll just transfer the stock Omega-X rail to the 12.5" upper. I'd rather keep it under $300. as well.

Have both the NSR 15 and KMR 15, ended up using the BCM on a new build. Found the Noveske flexes up when using a bipod. KMR15 is also lighter. Oh yeah the NSR Rail covers works with the BCM =o)

Brownells has the Geissele Super Modular Rail MK8- M-Lok. Probably going to pick up the 9.5" one in a bit.

Well, I ended up with a 13" BCM KMR from Brownells. Damn, that's one sweet keymod handguard and I'll give the CGN folks props for the recommendation. It's very light and easy to grip. I might have to pickup some keymod covers. Installation was a breeze and one key reason I went with the BCM was the fact that I didn't have to index the barrel nut.

I replaced the Omega-X quad rail on my DD M4V5 last night as I slowly convert it to a semi-long range shooter. Maybe I'll get a match barrel later this spring/summer. I've also got a Miuclek compensator on the way as well.
