Keystone Overlander

Fair, I am hoping the material quality is better on this for the price. Savage 64 is a great gun (have owned several) but I am not a fan of semiautomatic 22's, never had one that didn't jam at least sometimes and it is mostly a plastic gun. I like the aluminum chassis and carbon touches, I am hoping this is far better built.

1” longer at full extension and a pound heavier than savage rascal for 3x the price. Pass for me unless they lighten it up alot

Now that's interesting. I'm in for one I think. I really wish someone would make a decent 3-4× super light scope for these light 22's. I'd buy a few if they were available. Something like a scaled down 4x32 banner.

Savage Rascal 2.7 lbs (synthetic stock)

Keystone Cricket 3.0 lbs (Walnut stock)

Overlander 3.8 lbs

Overlander appears to have a metal cocking knob instead of plastic, a small but significant improvement.
Sights are better on the Keystone product and unlike the Rascals failure to fire issue, the Keystone goes bang every time

I’ll take the extra .8 lbs for the improvements
And I’ll put a MDT carbon grip on it for the utmost comfort.

Glad I saw this before buying the TC hotshot .22 single shot.

Piles of retailers. I will save you some time, Dominion Arms (site sponser) had the lowest price.

Thank you! Do you mean Dominion Outdoors in Winkler, Mb? I just checked their website and it doesn't show up there, so I inquired and hope to hear back. I'm planning on going to the Carman show this coming weekend for the first time; may have to visit Winkler while I'm in the neighbourhood. :)

I'm a fan of Prophet River, but this gun is something that requires a hands-on inspection if possible. :)

That is the one I ordered form. Might have got the last one as I can't find it on there either. Prophet River is nearly the same price as well, they may have more in stock.

Very tempting for the cool/unique factor alone. Definitely a "handle first" item, but with the pull knob to #### the trigger...Cooey 39 is the number to beat.

I handled the Black Widow awhile back; just didn't turn my crank. This is a cool little toy, showcases the magic words "carbon fiber" :), and looks like fun. Have an old SS Papoose already, and I know the switch from semi to single shot wouldn't bug me in the slightest.

The Keystone website shows a pic rail that mounts on top and replaces the rear sight. I can already see cutting off the rear of that rail, mounting just the front section with the two screw holes provided, and keeping the rear sight intact. Use the short piece of pic rail for a red dot on a low QD mount...hmmm....

Just saw the post by .22LRGUY; didn't realize that operating the bolt did not #### the gun. I have an old Savage Cub (predecessor to the Rascal) that I got for my granddaughter when she was about 10, and which she still enjoys shooting when she can get time away from her own 2-year-old daughter now. :) The Cub self-cocks, and has an Accutrigger.

So the Crickets need to be cocked separately, and apparently have a smooth but somewhat heavy trigger. Even my Papoose has a reasonably crisp, reasonably light trigger...

Again...hmmmm....
