And a very nice piece it is. I remember buying mint LB no4's and those british cases from Lever Arms in 1968.

These were endlessly modified and extended with leather or webbing snouts and gussets in the side, and carrying straps. At one time they were the only ones most people could get at an affordable price.

This one has some extra holes (small) so guess it had a strap on it at one time

I got 2 like that at an auction both in good shape $20 each. I think I got a great deal

I paid 55 for a 1943 dated one with a smaller pocket, thought that was reasonable
