Wanted to buy a .22 for my 10 year old daughters b'day. Any suggestions on something with a stock for small arms and hands? I saw the Cricket website but I haven't seen any Canadian retailers selling these. Suggestions?

x2 on the savage cub. My son got one for his 6th birthday, and he loves it. Factory drilled and tapped for mounts, laminate stock, ACCUTRIGGER. Can't go wrong. Bought one from Epps and it was $280something after taxes and shipping with a pair of savage bases installed. I tried it out a little last time we were at the range, and I can keep em in an inch or so on the 50 yard range, though take that for what it's worth, as it's difficult to shoot with the tiny little short stock.

I've been eyeballin' the Crickett for my son.
I noticed that Prophet River has them listed as 22LR, but the Crickett website says that they only shoot longs, not long rifle.
I've been meaning to drop Prophet River a line to inquire about it, just haven't got around to it.
Longs aren't that common on the shelf.
