BBQ,

Funny your user name is that for my response, but I was just thinking when I saw that picture how would Polar Bear ribs and steak taste like on the BBQ with some Keiths to wash it down. :dancingbanana:

Well you were trying to make us feel sorry for the bear. A hunt for a bear just like a hunt for a deer is just putting yourself into a position and situation to put a meal on your table. :p

I mean sure it looks cute and cuddly for some people I guess. But some people think that about cows too, and well a cow has 2 very special places in this world, one is to produce milk for me to drink, and the other is to provide meat for my plate. :dancingbanana:

Bbq Woa ... nice pic of the nanuq(polar bear) ... ;) BANG BANG ... HAHA! I'm not upset about my fellow Canadians south of me ... I just can't believe that nobody knows the deal with the north and it's PART of Canada ... it amazes me that we learn more about AMERICAN history in school than we do about our own country ... and nobody and I mean NOBODY knows what is allowed or not ... faarken polar bear being a poster boy now for global warming, etc ... jesus ... I can't wait to shoot my 1st nanuq and post his pic up ... maybe find a greenpeace webpage and post there too ... :D ;) I believe we live in the GREATEST country in the world ... and yet MANY of my fellow Canadians' don't know sheeit about this great country ... that's what saddens me ... :(

This is always the case....but dont hold it against anyone, here is your opportunity to educate everyone! Not to mention each province has it own rules and regulations....kind of hard to keep track of everything if you don't live there!

I would love to hunt up North, hardly any people compared to the border regions, hunting would be phenominal. I know a few guys who have gone to partake in caraboo hunts, they said it was amazing!

Nanuq season for us started Oct/07 and ends May 31/08. Each community get's a certain amount of tags ... our community has 8 this year which is down from 14 last year due to political pressure ... BS if you ask me ... bloody global warming BS and the USA making the nanuq a poster boy ... I'm hopefully gonna get out this coming weekend as I believe only 4 tags are left for our community ... and am told next year we will have even fewer tags ... jebus ... :( I'm not saying anything bad about my fellow Canucks south of me ... just that since the creation of Nunavut, seems nobody knows anything about the north ... yet when we were part of NWT people did know stuff ... we're the Eastern part of the former NWT ... I mean come on ... haha!

p.s. nanuq is used for the meat to eat, the hides for clothing or bedding or a nice trophy rug ... ;)

how does non resident hunting go up there for a canadian citizen, not for Polars, but for other game... cariboo ect. I have spent time in resolute bay years ago, my only experience with the north. Amazing place..... with daily walk throughs by "nanuq" ;)

have always wanted to make a return trip to the real north as an adult .... 13 was a long time ago :D

I don't believe you'll be able to legally.

You hire an outfitter. Not cheap, but that is how it is done.:)

Two deer...

One antlerless at 160 yds with a 168gr ballistic tip. Through and through shot in the lungs. Ran 20 yds and then died.

One spike buck at 220 yds with a 168gr ballistic silvertip. Lung shot. Dropped where it was standing.

Love my M14 for hunting.
