yes first time hunting deer ever and first time with the M14, this afternoon!
don't have a picture but it was a small buck nothing special!

otokiak- what are you using for winter lube? My m305 seized up in the cold, but I had alot of grease on her. Do you run it dry?

gnmontey- lol, that's awesome. my truck mirror met the same demise gopher hunting...

Throttle monkey1, I cleaned up my Springfield real good ... it's not dry ... but purdy damn close. My M305 Norinco froze on my friend before ... :(

p.s. if you do a search there is mention of a graphite application or something it's called that should work in cold!?!?!

If your gun is smooth enough to operate fine on some very light oil, like G96 spray, that's not going to gum up in the cold. Its not like you really need the anti-wear protection of grease when you are only shooting a shot or two out hunting.

While I have never been out at -40C, I have done a large amount of -25C hunting with my M305 lubed with Synthetic Shell Snowmobile grease.
