Kimber 10mm? Opinions?

Kimber is good (Customer service is awesome!)

I just ordered some 10mm brass from the US as I am going to get into reloading for it because it is such a sweet cartridge.

I've got a Glock 29 with Storm Lake barrel. This past weekend I put some anemic American Eagle through it and I couldn't tell the difference between it and the .40S&W stuff... oh... wait... that's because there is no difference.

I read that 9.3grs of 800x behind a 200gr Hornady XTP is accurate and potent! I can hardly wait.

I am with Jeff/1911 & Billy The Kid on their feelings regarding the 10mm Auto; everyone should have one :D
I think it (the 10mm Auto) is finally getting the attention it deserves.

!

Is yours a Kimber Eric?

No... My Kimber is a 45 I wish I have one in big 10 too!
I didn't even know that they made 10mm!:redface::redface:
I had a S&W 1026 that I should never had sold, and now I have a lovely G29 known personally by some excellent 10mm connaisseurs here, and G20.

That's the pistol caliber I ever dreamed of!

I was considering a Kimber to replace my old Delta Elite with...

I like having guns that are easy to disasemble though and my Glock 20 is like that so instead of going with the Kimber I went with a G29 with an extra 40 S&W barrel from Questar...

I have gotten the impression that the 10mm was a dieing cartridge, because of the 40 S&W.

I had a bugger of a time getting factory ammo.

I don`t think of 10mm as a dying cartridge, I`ve seen quite a few companies producing in that caliber. .40 s&w is just a toned down version of the 10mm as shooters (law enforcement) weren`t dealing with the heavier recoil as well as they did with the old .38`s and 9mm.
But your right it is harder to find then .40 s&w.

has anybody had any real negative issues with the Kimber? How is the metal quality?

Quality is top notch but unless you get a stainless model be careful of the finish as it doesn't take much to scratch it or dull it. If you have other guns and don't mind paying a premium for 10mm rather than 9mm go for it. Don't consider the only 1 mag part as you will want to park that in the original case with all the other stuff for future resale value and get yourself some decent Kimber Stainless Pro-Tacs or other top quality mags. You're gonna want 6 or 10 anyway so get the good ones. If I had my choice back I would have gone Stainless rather than the Tactical Custom II with alloy frame.

Like the title says..whats your opinions on this one? Custom Target II in 10mm///

Just purchased an eclipse custom II approx three months ago and have been very pleased with its performance and looks. It has fixed night sights but shoots point on at twenty yards right out of the box. The 10 mm is a great round and is very accurate. To date I have shot about six hundred rounds through the Kimber with zero problems. Hope this helps a little, good luck
