Hi, I am looking at getting my first 1911. I am 99% sure it will be a stainless Kimber 45.

I was looking at the stainless II pro carry and found a dealer with an excellent price and was thinking I might get that one.

My main concerns with the pro carry are accuracy(would i be better of with the stainless target or tle?) and also it is a bushingless design(not sure if that even matters)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There's a Pro Carry listed on the EE right now, brand new. For accuracy the longer barrel and the target versions with adjustable rear sight will probably be more accurate.

Thanks, I did see that one on the EE and looks good but I found a dealer with the same price. I just wasn't too sure how big of a difference there was between this and the longer barrel.

There is a reason that target guns have adjustable rear sights and longer barrels. The reason is there are easier to shoot more accurratly and you can change loads and then you only have adjust the sights.

You should be aware that there seems to be a high amount of pro-carry model Kimbers with barrel rusting issues. (google it)

I was at the counter of P&D when a customer noticed on one of their display BNIB ones...

YMMV

Thanks, good to know. From what I am reading I thing I am probably going with the full size model. Just on their site and looking at the Stainless target and stainless TLE.

I'm not in the market for a Kimber so I didn't check the price. I checked shooterschoice.ca and Roger lists the same gun for $1075. Check his website, he has lots of Kimbers in stock.

Wow, thank you. I emailed him last night about a couple and he got back to me right away. Those prices include the tax too. By far the best price I have seen.
