I have a kimber. 22 kit I got from a fellow member it was like new but the barrel link hole is drilled to far back for the slide to fit correctly and I called kimber and because I am in canada I cant ship the barrel

Wtf can I do??????

What brand 1911 are you fitting it into? I am assuming that the original owner was able to make it work and did not sell you a lemon. Perhaps this is just a manufacturing tolerance issue?
 
I tryed it on 7 different frames colt, kimber,sti,and norinco. The hole is to far back on the barrel..... I have NO issue with the seller he is my friend and he barely used it

One gun I tried it on was an AMT hardballer 1911 & the other was a Norc 1911A1.
It worked fine on both. I took it to the range & out some rounds through it. It functioned fine and was quite accurate.
 
How close is it? Seems strange that yours would be off... it's been a while since I handled one but I seem to remember bumping it a bit and working the slide a bit to get the holes lined up.
 
So it's good on the vertical axis ,but the hole in the barrel is 1/8" to far past the slide stop hole

I'm going to look at mine and get back you you....
 
OK took a quick look, mine slides into position easily.
The measurement from the flat part of the lug on the barrel to the closest side of the hole is 5/16"

Vertically it is good horizontal its to far to the rear. I have to pull the slide back just a bit for the slide realese pin to go in. .. once in the slide and barrel sits a touch back on the frame and the safety wont work
 
Don't force it, the slide is made of aluminum.

Check the conversion kit's ejector for proper clearance of your frame mounted ejector. Some adjustments may be needed.

Did you know the slide on the 22 Kimber kits does not lock back after the last round is expended?

It has nothing to do with the ejector.....And yes
 
Here is how the hole does not line up with the safty on and the slide back tight. Look on the right side that would be the back


This is with the slide release in .. The safty is a far up as it can go and notice the slide over hang at the rear


This is the hole I think is to far back on this block



 
I don't know what is out of spec (if anything) maybe someone with the same kit can post similar pics??


Either way,

The good news is, it's a block held in place by two roll pins :)
Absolute worst case scenario is you have a new block made to replace it.


Crazy idea

...if you want to do it on the super cheap & and fast (since it's for plinking .22lr ammo) you could make the hole larger, fill it with JBWeld and drill a new hole in a new location :D (*if it is indeed the problem).

Crazy idea #2 (I like this one)

Remove block, re-install it backwards and have someone drill a new hole in the virgin area ;)
