Just bought a Kimber Custom TLE RL II from P&D out of Edmonton today. Expect it here in about a week. Those of you that have this particular model, what are your thoughts on it?
 
Kimber is one of the good 1911's, tight, reliable and accurate, very good choice, congratulations!
I like more the ones with classic frame without rail, but this is just another personal opinion
 
Everybody has been telling me to get one....... I got a PM of things to look for in used and new 1911 style pistols and a link to a 1911 forum thread that is all about Kimbers and the problems and solutions with them as people have found.... Here is a link

Some very intereseting reading there...... That said it seems like the majority of Kimber owners run good right out of the box, some need some tweaking...... As far as I am concerned there is nothing alarming in the thread.... just good info to have....

Show us some pics and a range report when u get yours! I'm still saving to buy one..... and looking is all I can do!

I have owned 7 over the years and once you get 500 rounds through them they run great. Expect a few hiccups during the break in period due to the hight tolerances they have.

paid $1350 plus tax. a deal considering they are almost $1200 US at most dealers state side. picked up 3 spare mags (8 rnd with bump pads) for $23.00 US ea direct from Kimber USA......also a good buy considering they are about $60 CDN ea up here?
 
LOVE my Custom Target II. I wanted the adjustable sights... The gun feels natural, good grip angle, light trigger and it shoots exactly where I point it every time. If only I could point it at the bull's eye every time!!!!

Bought it outta Montreal and paid $1362.32 including taxes, shipping, spare 8-roung mag, and fiber-optic front sight.

Gwhysow was asking, maybe he's in the market. I don't know why he was asking, but if someone is looking for info, I'll help when and where I can... Mine is a recent purchase, so I wouldn't think the prices have changed much in the last month and a half.

Having said that, you're right... the point is they are really getting hard to find, and we're lucky we got them before it's too late!
 
Great choice on the Pistol. I've had one for about 1 year with no problems. Also have an alloy frame pro carry for the wife. Kimber makes some very nice stuff enjoy!
