Kimber firearms?

Once you've hunted with a Kimber rifle, it is pretty hard to go back to any other brand. I carried my friends Ruger gunsite scout last weekend for about an hour and that was enough of that.
Online reviews always compare Kimbers to the Barrett Fieldcraft. I had one of those in 308 too, and sold it. The Kimber was the superior rifle to me.
I'm not calling down the Barrett at all, as it was a pretty nice rifle, but the Kimber just felt better, The stock is skinnier, I prefer CRF, and the Kimber has a much better safety than the Barrett.

If they made lefty rifles I would totally buy a Kimber. Very little options for lightweight lefty rifles =(

Just buy a tikka. I have a half dozen kimbers and a Barrett fieldcraft....if i had to pay current pricing for any of them I’d just buy a couple tikkas and call it good.

Or just by a SS LH Model 70 and put it in an Edge stock. :)

That is definitely the way to go for you guys that need the handle thingy on the wrong side. Stainless model 70 CRF is very good. Nothing wrong with Tikka, but they are no model 70......
How much do those stocks cost? are they a "drop in" or do they require fitting? Are they easily available to find?

I’m in the same boat, but Kimber has said multiple times that it’ll never happen. So unless you’re open to spending for full custom, or can talk chuck out of that sweet SS M7o, Slimbo is right, Tikka is the easiest option for southpaws looking for something sort of lightweight. They aren’t glamorous, but are reliable and usually very accurate, IME.

Cabelas/BP had the LH Superlite equivalent for a while. Tikka claims ~6 pounds bare. That’s not Kimber or Barrett FC beating, but still not a bad starting point for us southpaws.

Of course that is the holy grail for you left handed heathens. How long did it take you to find that one?

Laughing! I’ve owned four of them configured like this now. Between this one and the last one was long enough to know that I was stupid to get rid of it.

Looks like it’s a sporter weight barrel, not the featherweight so you could save a few oz there too.

I have a 6 digit stainless featherweight in 270 that shoots groups so small they make some custom rifles blush. I need to get an edge for it, but that’s made more difficult these days of course with mcmillans change in ownership.

I thought they weren’t selling any inlet stocks for model 70s anymore? Just flat tops? I hope I’m wrong.

Price of stainless tikkas is edging in on kimber hunters, doesn’t help the lefties but assists the rest of us in justifying it.

yeah i went what was online here in aus for LH an apart from the tikkas, i found a Browning A bolt.... now the drama to this gun has been mentioned in this thread by someone else... Once you cart a Kimber long enough, ya dont really find anything else 'comfortable' , always feel like you're lugging a rifle around with ya :D :p

a bolts heavy, left handers good but feel kind of weird, like today for example, i confirmed POI for the LH Abolt 30-06 and a RH Rem700 7RM... Lft felt weirder than it was to cycle with my other hand on the Right action.... i was Laying down which made the difference, in the field there no doubt the LH feels better.
