Anybody have one of these firearms? If so how do you like it for carrying and shooting? What kind of groups does it shoot? Any other information would be greatly appreciated, I am thinking of purchasing one.

I don't have one but my hunting partner has a few Montanas none of his Montanas are in 325 but he has a 8400 in 325WSM and absolutely loves it. I have shot the Kimbers and also own the 8400 in 270WSM, my opinion of them is that you will not be disapointed if you are looking for a light easy carying gun that is very accurate, the quality is very high and they are great carrying guns and and offer alot of bang for the buck IMHO.

Kimber

Certainly don't want to contradict Bigbull, but you may want to make sure you get a newly built one as I have seen several posts on poor quality control on other forums. I had a 308 classic that would not fire when I recieved it. After disassembleing the bolt and a good cleaning it worked fine but certainly no extra power on the fireing pin. I also spent a afternoon at the range with a guy with a new Montana in 270 WSM that wouldn't do better than 4" with factory or handloads. Haveing said that my Kimber was very well put together, nicely finished and a very good bedding job from the factory. It also shot very well.

The only real gripe that I can see (because I have not actlaly shot one) wiht a Montana is that it is a blind magazine, rather than a hinged floorplate, which I prefer.:)

re:Gatehouse

That, and no factory authorized repair depot in Canada so you have to ship it to New York (Yonkers). I also fuss if the company goes belly up that replacement parts ( if ever needed) will be nonexistent.

Do you have any links to these threads on other forums? I am looking to buy one and would like to read first hand accounts of disappointed owners.

I've been pondering about quality since the price have come down.

24hourcampfire has had many threads on Kimbers. Some good/great, some not! For myself, if their quality was more consistent and there was a repair depot/authorized gunsmith(s) in Canada, I'd likely try one.
